Could anyone on here get something laser cut for me?
But I don't want to spend upwards of £80 on one, so I've designed a single piece one that will just need 1 fold, and a small amount of welding to attach the bar.
I need to know how much it will cost to laser cut the following item out of 6mm mild steel?

I'll check at work to see if I have any 3mm, if not I'll probably still want to get them laser cut rather than buy a whole sheet.
And I'm going to drop the bar down to about 80mm tall aswell, as I can see myself putting more than a couple of discs on it.

19-01-2021, 11:57 AM #6Having re-thought the design, I can probably drop down to 3/4mm steel, as it's only going to need to take about 20kg at a time.
I'll check at work to see if I have any 3mm, if not I'll probably still want to get them laser cut rather than buy a whole sheet.

19-01-2021, 01:34 PM #7I've changed the drawings to show 4mm sheet, and also shortened the bar for the weight discs. So this is what I need...(just the drawing in blue on the right)
Nick T I can do thinner as well so what ever you end up with!
The only issue if you go to thin is the 20mm pin security although the weigyhts should help support it!
The only reason I was going for 6mm in the first place was so I could use some of the material thickness as a locating hole for the pin. But as I'll only be going about 2 high with the discs I don't think it needs to be ridiculously strong.
I think 4mm should be plenty, so if you fancy PM'ing me a price for the above in 4mm mild steel that would be great just so I've got something to work with

I can't see the need for getting it cut with a laser and also the sizes with .5 of a mm is a bit OTT for what it is . You could cut that by hand with a burner and out would be as good as a bought one
