has anyone skimmed the head a lot to increase the compression ratio of the N/A engine? i'm think about taking about 1mm off the head haha... i know the risks as i've done it to other cars, just want to know if anyone else has tried it on the 1g-fe?

it's cheap as chips for a new engine, so try it and let us know.

i think my head gasket has gone anyway so it needs to come apart, i'll attempt 0.762mm off the head which is 30thou, i don't mind trying it. i'll check the valve clearance first and also the camshaft timing might be off a little bit i just hope it's not enough to show a fault on the ecu. i don't like engine lights being on.

Would simple old school porting and polishing be less dangerous? There is plenty to remove, ike engineering did that to a head a while ago. Not sure on results as it went in a turbo car.

not as fun though! Big GriniscoStu:

stock lexus is200 'static' compression ratio 10.1:1

any ideas what the dynamic compression ratio is?
