What I need to know about ECU's etc
I will be getting a TTE supercharger on thursday along with all the extra's including the computer thing that goes with it. Now do i need to tune it? will it already be set up? and if i want to increase the power by adding 160mm pulley injectors etc do i need to change it and if i do what options are there? do i keep the original is200 ecu no matter what i do by adding another one?
If anyone has a website with the basics or a post which would be most helpful please.
I have turbo'd cars before done many engine swaps but alot of it has been done on older cars and 4x4's. the only car with an ecu i done before i had someone install it all and set it up for a pretty penny. I am pretty good with wiring and electrics on circuit boards but theres a gap in my knowledge that marries engines with electrics :p

Anything bigger and their is differing opinions with the Lexus ecu. One thing is certain it can't be mapped. My opinion is that a piggyback won't work long term as the Lexus ecu relearns and adjusts so it counteracts the work of the piggyback.

Although if you went standalone you'd have a separate ecu controlling the engine you'd need to keep the standard one as well to send a few other signals elsewhere.

12-10-2022, 01:49 PM #4That's the issue with the Lexus. You would lose some without some careful wiring. But you'd keep the central locking and alarm that's separate.

i can do the engine side of things in just dont know what to do with ecu. id like something simple put of the box, i can solder and connect wires just dont.know about programming it
cheers guys, sounds like its complicated, i dont mind spending the money and i was hoping to get around 300bhp ot there abouts.
