IS200 wont run
IS200 wont run
Back again with a little issue, I,m wondering if anybody has experience or suggestions please.
I have a IS200, not used daily, I went t start it last weekend and it wouldn't run. It cranks and fires - but only for a second or so then cuts out. After four or five attempts the battery fell away (not cranking), so I jumped it off another car. After a few more attempts it struggled into life, it idled for a minute and the revs dropped and cut out. Jumped again, it ran ok if I kept the revs up but dies off when idling. No warning lights on and no fault codes displayed (with the OBD reader I have). This morning I replaced the battery, still runs for a second and cuts out. I have checked all connector plugs earth straps (put the jump lead from the battery neg to the engine!) fuel in the tank, and a smell of fuel after a few attempts vacuum hoses etc, fault persists.
The one thing I have noticed is that with the ignition on, there is a buzz coming from the throttle control area. I don't recall that this is normal - can anybody confirm / deny?
As the engine runs ok once it has started, I'm discounting the spark side of things, so it should be a air or fuel related. Throttle position doesn't have any effect, and I can see throttle opening and closing on the OBD.
