Difficulty 3 out of 10
Needed parts. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAR-8-LEDS-YELLOW-...2558320525
Or
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...K:MEWAX:IT
Tools needed. Screwdrivers, drill and bits, craft knife, round and flat files, small disc saw or other type, cable clamps, cable protect tube, 300mA fuse and holder, epoxy glue, gaffer tape and electric tape, no 10 socket or spanner , pliers
And
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/In-line-fuse-holde...588567ecda
so you’re ready to start
first thing you need to do is remove the covers from the mirrors ´, this is done by placing a flat screwdriver between the cover and mirror like so.
You can see that there are clips at the top of it and hooks at the bottom so remove the clips first then lift it up and away
[Image: SDC11475copy.jpg]
The next thing you want to do is head home to cut out the holes for the blinkers, I made a cardboard template of the plastic blinkers and then taped them onto the covers
[Image: SNC00164-1.jpg]
I drilled out a few holes next to each other and then cut them out with a disc saw but you a blade saw or a jigsaw. I cut the hole a bit smaller than the size I want so I could finish them off with the files, I taped the front so as to not damage the painted surface.
Once you have cut them out so you have a perfect fit you might want to paint the edges black, this can be done with a touch up paint pot. Now you’re ready to fix them on the car.
The first thing you should do is place the covers back on the car without the blinkers in them so you can use them as a guide for cutting away the plastic on the mirror that’s in the way.
Mark were the blinker will sit and then remove the cover so you can cut away the plastic that sticks out on the mirror like so
[Image: SDC11452.jpg]
Now you have cut away the plastic it’s time to fix the plastic blinkers into the covers, I did this using a small amount of epoxy glue and some gaffer tape like the second picture. Now you’re ready to remove the door panel and mirror for fitting.
To remove the door panel you first need to remove the screws x 2, they are located in the door lock and door handle
[Image: SDC11453.jpg]
There is also a plastic plug on the side of the door that must be removed, you do this by pressing the center in with a screwdriver a small amount
[Image: SDC11459.jpg]
You can now remove the window switch control unit from the door card. This is done by placing a flat screwdriver under the front of it and lifting it up a small amount then pulling it forwards
[Image: SDC11458.jpg]
Next it to remove the plastic surround on the door lock, this is done by placing a flat screwdriver on the top and bottom of the plastic just above the locks at the top and bottom and then open the door handle and pull the plastic toward the mirror till it come out.
Once you’ve done this you’re ready to remove the door card this is done by putting your hands at the bottom of the door card and you will feel there is a place to grab hold of it. Pull it towards you and it should just come away as there are 5 plastic clips holding it in place once this is loose you can lift it up and it should just lift off the door, you can now disconnect the red warning lamp wire from the card and place the card safe for fitting later.
Now you can remove the tweeter cover this just pulls off and you can unplug the mirror wire fixed on the door just under the tweeter.
Then you will see 3 no 10 bolts and the tweeter. Remove the bottom 2 first and just loosen the top one a little. Then while holding the mirror remove the top bolt and you will see a small plastic plug holding the mirror. You can squeeze this plastic with pliers so it will go through the hole. Now you should have the mirror free and ready to work on.
There is a rubber part to the mirror that you can pull back and you will find a white plastic cable holder with a screw, remove this and place in a safe place.
Now at the bottom of the mirror there are 3 screws. These have been fitted using a little lock-tight so care must be taken when removing these. Use the right size screwdriver and work them a little loose then tighten until you can remove them without problems.
Now you have the 2 parts open you will see the cables running into the mirror, take a meter piece of cable as a guide wire for threading all the cables through the grommet, you might have to pull and pust the cables a bit to get the wire through the grommet but it will go
[Image: SDC11463.jpg]
And then you can pull the wire through the opening until you have about 30cm free
[Image: SDC11464.jpg]
And now you are ready to join the wires from the blinker to your guide wire, I used a bit of electric tape to join the together then I pulled them back through the mirror until the blinker is nearly attached, leaving a little bit of play.
I then cut open the mirror cable protector and placed my wires in with the mirror wires and taped them up with black electrical tape and then put the mirror back together again

Now I placed about 50cm of my cable protector onto the wires for the blinkers. I still have the guide wire attached and then put the mirror back onto the car. I then put the connector back into the contact for the mirror to work so now it’s pretty much back as it was.
Now you want to remove the side blinker, this can be done with your nail lifting it out from the side like so
[Image: SDC11468.jpg]
Once you have it out you can then feed the guide wire through the top of the door hinge there is a rubber there so as you push the guide wire through put a finger into the open hole were the blinker goes and pull the guide wire through, now leave about 10cm of the cable proctor out so this will reach the door card.
Next is to connect the blinkers to the side blinkers using cable clamps or you can use a soldering iron etc to fix these in. don’t forget to put your fuse in here for safety sake.
Once you have done this you’re ready to test it all and if it good then you can put everything back together making sure that it looks good and fits good
[Image: SDC11480.jpg]
This is what it looks like finished. Hope yours looks good to.
