Racing Driver stuff tomorrow!
Racing Driver stuff tomorrow!
Tomorrow morning I am off to Bedford Autodrome. Patrick at Rogue Motorsport has organised some ARDS tests at a trackday that's running tomorrow, so some of my friends are going to take their tests in the afternoon following some trackday practice. Hopefully we will see some class B racing driver licences being awarded! I'm not taking part myself, just going to watch.
I'm also taking a friend along who is interesting in becoming a racing driver, or at least getting some serious trackday experience, so we are going along to find out how everything works and what's required. I know my friend Dan who is doing his test in the afternoon has had to have an MSA-approved medical etc.
I'll take some photos of the day, might well be some expensive metal there!
Sounds great, looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing pics !
Sounds like fun!
how much was it if you dont mind me asking?
That sounds good :thumbup1: and a goood price too. Look forward to the photos!
thats not a bad price at all
Sounds fun. Great track also - EVO mag use it for their comparison tests.
The day went well, we got there about lunchtime by which point the guys taking the test had already had their driver tuition and were sitting their theory/written test. We went from the hospitality suite and drove over to the pit lane and parked up, where we watched all the cars passing, spoke to some of the drivers, and watched the practical tests which took place amongst all the other track day activity. Then my friend decided he liked the look of it so much that he borrowed a helmet off someone and paid tthe £10 for a passenger wristband and spent the next 45 minutes being a passenger in a VXR220
Some photos from the day:
The VXR (number 20 of 60 made)
A sleeper GT3RS, all decals removed
Good mix of cars!
Some MR2 presence
A car from the Clio cup/series/whatever it's called
This was how close we were allowed to the track cared:
350z business end
The blue 350z convertible and the VXR belong to my friends Dan and Mark, both of whom passed their ARDS tests! I also talked them into coming to our Surrey Rolling Road day... we're expecting the VXR to weigh roughly half what the Z weighs
