Has anyone wall mounted a TV before? I'm looking to put a 32" LCD on the wall (follow on from my earlier larger computer monitor thread) and just checking how it should be mounted.

Looking at getting a vogels mount, and downloaded their instructions and it shows just fitting normal rawplugs in the wall. However, I was under the impression on a brick wall you'd need to use shield anchors.

I know they used anchors when our 50" was installed but that is a "lot" heavier. Only reason I'm questioning is that I'm thinking of getting a moving mount, so with the TV being pulled backwards and forwards want to make sure it's securely fixed to the wall.

Cheers mate, thanks for that. The TV I'm buying actually only weighs 10kg so I guess the rawplugs will be fine - yep it's 10mm that comes with the mount and nice big bolt head screws.

Yeah I had originally planned to get a superslim mount, but in order to put a smaller channel in the wall I decided to go with a high level plug socket instead of running it through and to cover this with the TV. Therefore the superslim won't work as the plug will be about 20-30mm from the wall.

The fixed mount that isn't superslim puts the TV 59mm from the wall, while the moving mount is 76mm from the wall - so it's a difference of just 17mm but will allow the screen to turn (it's in a bedroom so this will allow the TV to turn towards the bed when required)

We got a 50' that has been wall mounted and is fine, so a 32' will be no trouble!!!!

Just make sure you use some decent bolts. Ours is mounted flat agianst the wall, If you think about it the TV is actually putting a downwards force on the bolt and isn't really pulling it away from the wall. Ours is still on the wall so must have been done right............well its up at the moment! LOL

The 'Demon' is on its way :Shooting:

Cheers for that, that's a good point and I imagine that's why the bolts are so long. Only concern I had was that I wasn't sure that the plastic plugs would be up for that kind of force whereas obviously the metal anchors can't really be destroyed as easily.

Clearly that's not the case though so I'll just stick with what comes in the box - I wasn't that bothered for a fixed mount, just that with a moving mount wanted to make sure it won't get pulled off the wall Smile
