02 sensors
02 sensors
i have yet another faulty 02 sensor in the exhaust! 2nd in 18months! soooo decating the exhaust and removing the sensor seems the logical way forward. but what i want to know is what is causing the sensors to keep failing? is it cos gasses arent escaping properly? so would removing the sensor and putting an 02 simulater in cause any problems that could be underlaying somewhere, or could it just be a faulty cat? please help
didnt expect it to give up so soon tho tbh mate, as they arent exactly cheap.
its a denso one from a shop on american ebay so not exactly easy, and as lex tryed charging me nearly 350quid to replace it last year i thought sod that and did it myself for a third of the price
i think its the same one not had chance to speak to them properly but the reception bloke seemed to think it was the exhaust sensor
i had two go on my 300 recently, one after the other, thing is they say if one goes then others may follow as same age/place etc. £200 from lexus easy to fit yourself though or speak to jay (jay_russell) he can do cheaper even inc p&p from Sweden!!

I see your point not sure what is involved with it as there are the four sensors, which could mean there maybe a need for some ECU programming? Worth enquiring, I would prob give SPC a bell.
i know there is an involvement of a simulater somewhere but dont know how its setup/installed, and probably wont be able to get rid of all the cats due to emissions
I was going to ask where you got it from too. Does it say Denso on it, or is that just what the eBay guy said ? I wonder if it could be fake ? I would certainly expect it to last a lot longer than 18 months.
yeah it had denso stamped at both ends plug and sensor end, like the stamps that are all ready on the parts on the car and look identical. the fault has been located to bank 1 sensor 2, but i cant find the diagram on which sensors is which, can some one point me in the right direction please and yet again lexus are trying to charge me £330.13pence to change the sensor!
