Hi guys just a quick question... i was driving my car this morning.. i was in it for about 2 minutes and the engine wasnt even warm.
then all of a sudden i went to pull away and the cars engine sounded fine but all of a sudden it sounded really loud and harsh! kinda like its reving higher than what im revving it at and its showning on the tacho.
it still starts and doesnt rev by its self.
any ideas guys? my guess is the engine is dead as its been very sluggish and feels like it keeps misfiring in the past 2 weeks
cheers guys

tis petrol and it burns oil like its going out of fashion.. i put oil it it last night and it was ok. i dont normally check it as much as i should but i know when it needs filling up as the oil light flashes if i had to brake really heavily so i know when its getting low. but no light or any thing last night so i just put oil it any way.
it does burn oil though and it mis fires and after a misfire it puff out a cloud of blue smoke.
no misfiring this morning though.
sorry if this doesnt make sesne im sort of putting every thing about the problem i can

sounds like clutch is on it's way out mate, mine did this just before the clutch went. I would get it in for a check asap as like me you will end up needing a new flywheel if you drive it too much. And a is200 flywheel is £700+vat alone

I not sure anyone can tell you what is wrong online as its seems it will need to be looked at.
It is a concern that you have no idea as to when it was last serviced.
How long have you owned the car, and do you drive it hard this could be one reason why it drink oil.
Does the car drive?
I would get someone round to check the car before you do any further damage if it does drive

Hmm, that doesn't sound good at all. It burns loads of oil but you only normally check it when the oil pressure light comes on ?

What does it look like underneath the radiator cap (on the bottom of the cap), is there a mayonnaise-like substance there or does it just look like normal oil ?

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
