31-05-2018, 07:45 AM #1Seen an audi RS4 recently which had been done up quite tastefully but the different thing it had was totally blacked out smoked/tinted headlights. Arent these illegal? How do they work and how is it done as it actually looked quite cool.

On closer inspection of one I found that they had bought headlight protectors and sprayed them black, I thought it was quite a clever idea as it completely changes the look of the car and you can take them off when it gets dark etc...
This might not be the same as what you saw but I saw a car like that recently and was quite intruiged, I was pretty sure that they would be illegal.

I don't know I haven't done it. But I wasnt aware that putting them on and off was a hassle, they just clip on under the bonnet as far as I'm aware. But maybe I am wrong.

There was a member on LOC who did this to his IS200, had tint film applied to the headlights. It did look amazing, and apparently didn't interfere much with the headlights.
