My lex has had both fitted in the past few years, i love the supercharger just for the sound of it and the extra power, plus it makes the is200 a lot better/fun to drive :thumbup1: The turbo is great fun when the boost hits and the pick up is great if set up properly, where as the supercharger has the power there all the way through the rev range, so its always running and you don't get the lag that a turbo has? But again if the turbo setup is tuned well it'll be a lot more fun :thumbup1:
The TTE supercharger kit is actually made for the IS200 so its an easy bolt on application,
where as the turbo needs a lot more work to set up and fit?
i fitted mine in just under two and a half hours and that was at the side of my house...
do the charger mate it sounds amazing!!!!!and you get some funny looks when you go wizzing past!!!!
theirs never a min that i regret buying the charger........
As above mate, the Charger is just great fun to have, the amount of people that ask what i have under the bonnet is amazing? Supercharger and a nice exhaust and you'll be smiling for months on end and every time you drive it
If you ever get chance mate, or if you can get to a meet and one of the guys there has a supercharger fitted ask if they'll take you for a spin in it? nearly all the guys i know that have one are more than happy to take you out and show you how they work :thumbup1:
From what I've seen on various forums, the turbo provides lots more power, but they have way more issues in terms of reliability and the like.... The charger on the other hand I've seen very few issues mentioned for.
Cos of this (and the cost too - chargers are about 2-2.5k and turbo setup about twice that) I'm gonna look to follow the charger route myself when I have enough cash put aside... Well, that and I heard the noise Ormi's makes - and it's sweet as a nut!
