I have spent the last hr sitting in Tesco car park taking my lunch break and I was appalled by the total lack of drivers ability to Drive/Park/observe. At least 60% of drivers lack the basic skill of car control, dont turn the steering wheel when getting out of a parking space, park where its the most convenient for them and not give a **** about others, reverse out onto other drivers.
And I must stress that men are as bad as women.

1990 Eunos Roadster in Mariner DU blue
Cobalt cat back, Decat pipe, 15in Red Rota GT3 alloys, Toyo tyres, Lowered on Coil overs, Red anti roll bars, 14degree timing mod, white dash kit, illuminated side marker lights,
Halo ring headlights, OEM windblocker, Bluetooth streaming HU, Blue leather handbrake and gear lever gaitor, Centre brake/tail light mod, Blue velour door cards, Polished cam cover, Polished front strut bar, 4xheadrest speakers, JDM floor mats, Suede semi dish steering wheel,

Yes it's often amazing, parking and driving on dual carriageways/motorways really needs to be improved in the driving test.

i find it generally awful of late

I had to wait this morning as an old biddy attempted to go round a mini island, didnt make it, had to reverse and start again!!!!

Ive never understood how the "feeding" of the steering wheel is encouraged and taught to drivers, you just simply cannot feed a steering wheel quick enough or accurately enough for it to be deemed appropriate

as soon as i passed my test i stopped this and found my driving improved tenfold and parking was oh so much easier!

So now you can see where that new little dent in your door, wing comes from, they even let the shopping trolley roll when they open there car boot to load.
A huge majority are so blinkered and pay more attention on grabbing the parking space nearest to the entrance..

Lol, one old boy must have taken at least 20 attempts to park into a space and when it was time to get out of his car, he couldnt open the door as he parked so close to the car next to him, but on the passenger side there was a 2 metre gap, so he reversed, had a drive around the car park 3 times then drove out

So thats why Toyota and Lexus have started putting park assist onto their cars!!

Seriously it is the complete lack of reversing ability that astounds me.

When I was driving coaches, I ended up getting out of my coach and into a "insert gender here so as not to upset the purplewitch " car and reverse it out of the way for her because "they hadn't seen me coming" a huge Scania in bright purple with so any day running lights it was unreal........

"Life's goal is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body. But, rather to skid in sideways........
totally worn out and broken, shouting 'Holy ****, WHAT A RIDE!'"

lol i ignore my sensors complately, they tell me stop with a foot to go!!!

considering my lexus is a big car i can generally park it within 5-6 inches of anything else so long as i get chance to access the space first

I do the same, don't generally park next to cars with a child seat in the back because I know they'll be leaning on the door as they strap their child in which probably means the door will be leaning on my car Smile

oi you ! You won't offend me, I'm well good at reversing .. and parking (Although as I have already confessed I won't park anywhere I am not 100% positive I can get in and out of, I'd better add that .. before you do) Parking at home takes a bit of skill too ... but I have been known to get it wrong when I know I have an audience ... so I tend not to park where phil might now be having lunch and taking notes lol ... but I will continue to use the excuse that its for the sake of my paintwork !!
