Hi Guys,

I'm going to attempt to clean up the total f*ck-up that my local garage made of painting my calipers and hubs sometime over the next few weeks.

However, all I've got for jacking the car up is what comes with the standard toolkit in the boot. Will it be OK to jack up a side at a time and do the work, or do I really need to jack up two corners at a time to keep things 'even'?

Hiya mate if i were you i would jack the car up and put stands under it, this helps when it comes to painting as you can paint one corner at a time working round the car by the time your back to the 1st one again its ready for a second coat etc etc

halfords normally have a deal on a jack and stand kit about 49.99 i think

Ah yeah forgot that bit bad me

you should never work on a vehicle that is not securely supported axle stands are always the best option and safest unless you have a 4post lift handy

TBH this is all new to me so I guess I need to do some reading up.

But as a general rule is it best to axle stand the front of the car, work on those wheels, then switch to the back, or axle stand a side of the car so that it is tilted to either the left or right?

I'm thinking tilted, so at least then you will always have one rear wheel on the floor which is secured by a handbrake?

But really I need the 'jackin 101' course...

Looks good...but seems awfully cheap? Anyone here tried it?

Also, I wonder if the jack will go under a lowered car

i have the same kit lol

the jack doesnt go under on its own you need to use standard lexus jack to raise an inch on mine in order for it to fit,

Kit works fine and for the money i wont argue
