Hello,
does anybody know how to disassemble the rotors of the charger and the gears (cog wheels)? I need to disassemble the gears from the rotors in order to check/change the bearings if necessary. As I do not want to damage anything, I am seeking for any experience from anyone who already disassembled the charger. Here is the link to a post, where the charger was opened, however abactus did not disassemble this part. Thank you for any advice !!! Jan

DO NOT try to take it apart..... the rotors and the shaft are seperate and and are aligned similarto engine timing. If you get it slightly wrong then the charger is scrap.

The bearings are standard items, however the seals are a special size and can not be bought over the counter, they were specially made for eaton.

I already have all the parts including bearings and seals, but I found that rotors are timed and that it requires special service to disassemble it and put it back properly aligned and timed. I will try to change all the other bearings and snout seal and I hope it will be fine. Thanks for your ideas !!!

which bearings and seals do you have, I assume you have the rear rotor support bearings and the small seal for the drive shaft?

I got complete kit including those that I am probably not going to need...I bought everything before I realized that the part between rotors and gears is repairable probably by Eaton only (at least in US). I will try to change the ones that you mentioned and I will see if there will be some oil leak from gears to rotors and if the noise will be acceptable. I am refurbishing it as I bought it used and I want to make sure that it will be in perfect condition before I put it in my car so maybe this will be sufficient. Thnak you for your ideas.

ok, my advise is double check the part numbers for the rear rotor bearings as there are different sizes and the shaft oil seal( snout seal) also has different sizes if it is a MB unit or a standard eaton unit. Standard eaton unti has a seal about 25mm across.
