Helloooo, this is the story. Im doing to do my stereo lights again with the tiny LED's as i did before, and like before i want a practice run, so i have just brought a top loading cd player with err3 off ebay for the bargain price i think of 99p!

now, depending on if i totally mess it up or not, how difficult is it to repair an err3? as if i do the LED conversion right, and fix the err3, i can potentially sell it on again, and make a tidy profit as im sure a blue LED converted cd player would grab a few peoples eyes.

Anybody successfully fixed an err3?

Not that I have heard of mate! Usually the only solution is replacement, with the same, or aftermarket HU.

Not sure how much demand there is for a stock unit with blue lights, as it would require the buyer to do their instrument cluster, heater controls and heated seat buttons to match, and they are not all exactly easy, for those not comfortable with a soldering iron!

If you can fix ERR3 however, then you could make a tidy profit many times over!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

lol if i can fix it then for sure,

about the blue, im not so sure, i've seen hundreds of people on here that have changed there clusters, ac, heated seats (all very easy) and most changed there ignition ring and cig lighter also, but they all have an orange stereo. Blue seems a popular theme and looks much more modern than the orange as standard.

here is what the stereo looks like, i would of thought it would be quite popular? Opinions anyone?

(bear in mind the display is now green, just an old picture, also the ac is bright blue now)

lol fair comment, i honest wasnt aware of fashion trends in car lights, but all feedback is welcome. Obviously any colour is possible, any idea what is "in" these days. Maybe orange is fine, i just thought it always looked very old manish

The clusters and ignition ring are easy to do. Heated seat buttons very fiddly, and heater controls even harder! Some have done them, yes, but only those with the confidence and skills!

I will soon be doing all of mine, probably to blue, though the heater controls will be sent off to someone else to do! (Running aftermarket HU so that is not an issue.)

i found all mine fairly easy to do with the exception of the ac. i ruined a few ac units trying and still didnt get it right (looked great but rings would stick when changing temp) So mine to will be going to someone else hopefully as seeing his work on here it looks very good

As I said, heater controls are hard. I think it was Jay in Sweden who perfected the method, and that is why he will be doing mine.

As for what colours are "in fashion" blue may not be new anymore, but I still think it looks good. White may be the new "in" colour, I am not sure. One thing I am sure of though, Orange screams 1990s, and most other colours are an improvement. Though, as with many of these things, it is down to personal taste, you put on your car what you like!
