I been after having some bits powder coated, namely a cam pulley back plate. i got in touch with a few local companies most of which wanted £50+vat for a chrome finish and £40+vat for black, dam expensive i thought!

Today i found a company called Vulcan powder coating and blast cleaning in Basildon, they wanted £20 for chrome and only a fiver for black, Result!

If anyone needs some powder coating done in that area these are the guys to use;

http://www.vulcanshotblasting.com/

I took the part down to them this afternoon and the guy i spoke to (Simon i think) was very accommodating, he was happy to take a look at my engine to see if he could replicate the chrome finish i already have on some parts, seems not so i went for satin Black, it should be done by the end of the week.

Sounds cheap. Good result. Would they accept parts from a courier do you think? And send back? Too far for me!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Powder coaters (like most paint services) have a minimum order charge to cover mixing up a batch of paint. But it sounds like the colours you want are probably ones Vulcan use frequently so they can just use what they've already got mixed. Smile

Sound like a bargain.
I've used Maldon shot blast and powder coating (bit of a mouthful) before. They were quite competitive and did a good job.
They did my wheels for £40 a corner iirc and all the springs for my coilovers for £20 including a 5 year guarantee.

this is the sort of company we as outlaws will use alot i think and if we can get them on board with the club then we might be on a winner.

where i live there is nothing close and the ones i have phoned are very expensive so these soud like a good bet. Plus my wifes family live in essex so even if they dont take from courier i could send to them and take them down for me
