lets have your input

we have plenty of people who can use photoshop and are good at web design so heres the rub

design a new header for the forum and the one we think is best will be the new forum header for all to see plus when we get a new banner it will be the design on there as well.

so lets see those true artist come forward and design a new header for the redesign.

the only 2 things that need to be included is the font for the OJC which is (Tempus Sans) and the Kanji the rest is up to you

Dear members,

This is a 'state of the nation' post to bring all the members up to speed on the clubs situation.

Since we were born in 2009 we have gone from strength to strength as a club, and our attendances and stands at shows testify to that. However with the continued growth of Facebook more and more clubs are popping up on a daily basis.
Whilst our reputation has ensured that we continue to grow, the forum has become noticeably quieter.
The moderator team are of the opinion that we need to maintain the forum as its one of the things that sets us apart from other Facebook only based clubs.
However the forum needs funding in order to pay for the hosting, this has previously been covered by sponsorship from companies, and from the membership fees from our loyal members. Again though these have been decreasing as free advertising and ability to sell items through Facebook negates the need to become a member on the forum.

We as an Admin team now struggle to justify the need for paid areas of the forum as the original biggest selling point was ironically the ability to sell items. Also as a forum that accepts all models of Japanese cars we don't provide enough specific information on models to warrant locking workshop areas. This will make the situation worse as well have even less income coming in from the members who join as Outlaws and pay a membership fee.

So what can we do?

The current server we are on allows for heavy traffic use from not just members but also the search bots who keep us high in the search engine, but for this we then need to raise around £1000 a year for hosting,
We could lower our outgoings by moving to a free server, however traffic is then limited to the forum and could mean downtime, alternatively Find an intermediate option, however hosting costs would still apply.

So how do we increase income?
More sponsors and the opportunity to advertise on our stands at shows would help. Those who have been to shows with us will see some suppliers already do this, but we'd need more sponsors to maintain the forum.
Offer something more to become a member, however if we offer cut price tickets the cost has to come from somewhere.
We could offer members tickets at face value, and non members would then pick up the subsidy for maintaining our equipment that currently all attendees split evenly.

Another option is related to this email; Honesty. We hope if we are open with you the members, you would be willing to support the forum in whatever small way you can, and indeed even help provide alternative solutions.

So members, there it is the current situation with the club and the forum. Are you, our loyal members, willing to support to ensure we don't just become another Facebook group amongst the thousands of similar ones already there.

Thanks

To all of OutlawJapClub Members.

With us now entering the 2014 show season, the admin team would like to inform you of what changes are happening with future events for OJC.

In past years the admin, from there own pockets and funds, have purchased show tickets well in advance to secure stand locations and tickets for you the loyal members.

This however often left the admin team with either excess unsold tickets, or large amounts of money expended many months before shows and not recouped until the show itself in many cases.

For OutlawJapClub to move forward we need you, the members, to purchase your tickets well in advance for show dates. This will allow us to secure the excellent stand positions we enjoy at many shows, and ensures we have a stand of sufficient space for our members to show their pride and joys in all their glory.

The admin will continue to insure that event information is available to you as far in advance as we can, to keep you upto date with events.

So now when you buy your ticket for an event through the club we then purchase your show ticket. This is why events now have closing dates for tickets to allow the admin to buy and send out your allocation in a timely manner, and ensure our stands are of an appropriate size.

Also, recently there has been a few questions as to why our ticket prices are marginally more expensive than buying direct from shows. This additional cost covers multiple costs to the club. These include having to buy a bulk of tickets to guarantee stands, and therefore additional postage to individual members; consumables used by the club at various shows, from simple BBQ gas to replacement parts to club items damaged during shows (be it by the weather or accidents); and also buying new items for the club including marquees etc.

We hope all of the above shows how open and honest the club wishes to be with its members and how we the admin team need the members assistance to keep the club growing year on year as we have been doing!
Finally, If there are any questions dont hesitate in asking the admin team for clarification or advice.

The club has some good news for its members and their friends :w00t:

We at OutlawJapClub have always focussed on the members and have listened to what the members want in relation to shows and parts of the forum. As such over the past 6 months I have been looking at prospective new members and ways to improve numbers and general car shows. One thing the club has noticed is the more general car shows and cruises that happen that we don't seem to do as we specialise in the Jap brand and not all of us want to attend these functions.

So we put our thinking caps on and released a sister site directed at the modifying scene. Due to my research into this a member on here approached me with a plan and a request to give this a go on the clubs behalf.

By allowing someone else to run this sister site my full attention will be left to focus on the OutlawJapClub and the Outlaw impact at shows be it just a 1 day event or a whole weekend.

We are hopeful this will bring in more numbers for the general shows which of course will then help the clubs grow

The plan is that any of the shows OutlawJap Club has already been attending will still be attended by Outlaw Jap Club such as

Japshow, Japshow Finale, JAE, Japfest, along with plentymore shows next year

the sister Site will be focusing on shows such as
the modified Lives, BHP Shows, In car nation, Fast Show and plenty more

All shows will be listed on both sites in order to maximise on numbers attending and payments on both sites will be taken in the same way. Attendee lists will be updated on both sites regularly with links to and from each site.

The T&C of both sites will be the same and as a collective if you are removed from one site due to your actions you are also removed from the other this goes for banning and suspension as well

We hope you can enjoy both sites much the same as you have enjoyed the OutlawJapClub

The sister Site is located at

http://www.outlawmodified.co.uk/forum

Some of the early members of OutlawJapClub will remember upon its launch we asked for input on how you want the site to run and things you wish to see on the site. This is the same on the new site so feel free to make some suggestions over there and i will see what i can do.

What to do when posting.

When posting if you want to target the largest amount of viewing in your thread then the best thing to do is think carefully to what your target market is.

Most important part of the post is the title, so give this some thought.

For instance name the car via model and brand, Use key works that will be easily found.

Ask yourself how would I look for the item if I was looking in Google or other search engines.

At the bottom off the thread it has a tag box add key words to your thread into the box followed by comma after each key word the forum allows a maximum of 25 words,

The rest is down to the search engines to do there bit

This is only here to help and not teach anyone how to suck eggs

Good luck on reaching your target audience

Sad News
Our Dear Friend Johnboy passed away on 25 Feb 2011 after fighting a long illness.
John lived in Harlow with his wife and was a car fan from a small child but he loved his Lexus Brand.
John went on to become the club meets rep on LOC and this was the place most of his friends got to see him.

Johnboy was more than just a member of this and other car clubs he was the backbone of many a club meet and will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him.

John was a great guy that never judge anyone and always put time a side for his friends.

I would like this Year JAE to be in honour of Johnboy as he love to be at this event more than any where else and I would encourage every member to raise a glass to him.

Our thought go out to John family and friends.

RIP my old friend

A list of modification that your car has untaken.
Club Sticker must be on your car (good chance to get that membership pack your been promising your self)
Your car may not be chosen straight away so please keep this post and us up dated.
And finally a reason to why you think your car stands out in a crowd.
