I recently earnt a bit of overtime so decided to splash out on something id been tempting myself with for quite a while. A new ECU.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with my old ecu and it did a fine job on my car but i wanted the newer version and more channels for finer control; plus some other settings.

I was settled therefore on the Link G4+ Fury ecu. A newer 6 channel version of my old G4 Storm that has onboard Wideband, Knock, drive by wire, traction control, cruise control, and the usual Link motorsport features like launch and anti lag.

After asking a few suppliers about what i needed Clint from BHP was the most friendly and willing to answer my many questions prior, during, and post the sale of the ecu.

They also stock a huge range of plugs and connectors that have allowed me to completely rebuild the engine loom without the need for soldered connections. This should benefit me in terms of reliable signals and control.

He even found and got into stock connectors he didnt have that i asked about (subaru coil on plug for reference)

Overall well recommended!

Although Chris (Scoff) at EFI parts does indeed supply ECU's and wiring parts as the name suggests; his true talent is with Mapping.

After not being completely happy with my last tuner and wanting to move away from road mapping to the relative safety of dyno conditions; i set about hunting for a new mapper.

One of my friends is heavily into Renault 5's and suggested i try EFI as they had a good reputation in the renault world. Well anyone who can make an unreliable French car go like stink must have some magic in his finger tips!

Ive now been back to Scoff 4 times as ive changed different things on the engine; and i intend to go back again once my engine is back together to properly map my new ECU.

He is very appraochable and will happily walk you through what hes doing; what his opinions are on improvements that could be made; and how hes getting on with the car.

Ive only used him for Mapping; but he also fits and wires ecus for customers, and looking at the quality of the wiring on his own Drag prepped Renault 5; if i wasnt able to do it myself i'd happily send the car to him for wiring as well!

Now if my testament isnt good enough he also now maps the T Lex; and he was the man who mapped the Exocet thats on the forum.

Another recent job he took on and ive followed on facebook was a twin engined Corsa that is making some serious power!

Before the unfortunate end of two of my ringlands i had purchased and fitted a new clutch to the Lexus.

Due to the rare nature of the 1GGTE flywheel i was unsure as to what i needed to fit (if anything fit at all)

After a lot of researching i decided a 3SGTE MR2 turbo one will fit so ordered the 6 puck Stage 3 kit.

When i explained to them what i was doing we realised i wouldn't need the release bearing from their kit or the pilot bearing. They were happy to remove them and knock the price down accordingly!

Now the clutch is fitted i love it, bites well; handles the power; and although its certainly heavier its not at all juddery!

Overall well recommended!
