New VIP project GS300
by FOSSIL FUELS, 10-03-2022, 08:48 AM
Just about to take delivery of my new project...

With the IS200 being a daily i cant take it off the road to do engine swaps/turbo conversions i wanted something different...

whilst searching the internet over the weekend i came across a great starter project.

[Image: 10268308_10152335479087579_751349844_n_zps9c18b717.jpg]

[Image: 10178370_10152334532747579_1339817365_n_zps7a260bed.jpg]

Has the 2JZ-GE engine which runs and sounds like brand new! And a good 35mpg + on motorway driving.

Very smooth and faultless auto box

All the electrics and added extras work perfectly fine

this is a very nice lexus finished in fern green met(rare colour) and cream leather interior, its in lovely condition throughout and has covered 148k,its mot October with no advisory's taxed end of august. It drives like a dream and is a real head turner.
A lot of extras from Lexus including touch screen sat nav, 6 disc changer, electric memory seats, electric steering wheel, Lexus uprated audio (provided by Bose), cruise control.

So far the modifications added include:
Custom made front lip
Smooth front bumper
Privacy tints
US spec led rear lights
Custom front grill
Wrapped center console
2.5" inch cat back straight pipe (i will be modifying these and will be putting on some twin tip silencers on.
19" Fuel wheels
BC coilovers
DAD table
Rolled front arches

Im not a big fan of the colour... so im in 2 minds about finding another GS and swapping over the mods or respraying/wrapping the car to suit.

Think i need to get some better pics when i get it home and do some photoshops.

cheers for looking

Tuesday night Reading Jap meet
by Tommo, 10-03-2022, 06:15 AM
So last week, I was invited to a Jap meet in Reading by a friend that owns an MR2. Was a great evening with an impressive turnout of about 50 Jap cars or varying types and ages. I took my camera along, and here are a few of the better shots.

only getting hot air
by Moley, 08-03-2022, 10:11 AM
Hi folks. Just wondering if anyone can help with this.

My heater in the lexus will only blow hot air out of the vents in the dash.
Can't get air out of the ones for your feet or front windows.

Any ideas how to fix this ?
Oh and don't know if this is relevant or not but also the buzzer that tells you that you've left on your lights also dose not work.

These things are pisssing me off !!!!!

Amplifier wanted, what to go for?
by Morango, 05-03-2022, 04:55 PM
Hi,

I am looking for a couple of sub amps, one for a car and another for a 4x4.

The car has at the moment 2 alpine v12 4 channels running 1 alpine r type 12" sub and 4 vibe blackair speakers, i want to nick 1 of the 4 channels and replace with a good sub amp, not worried about looks or styling as long as it thumps and isn't overly expensive.

Also after just a cheap sub amp for the 4x4 (Toyota Surf) i have been using a Genesis mono to power a 12" fusion thing but i want the Genesis in the Lexus....

Hope that made sense

Anyway if anyone has anything half decent for sale or knows what to go for, please let me know Smile

Cheers

Jack

Newbie with a Nissan
by Tommo, 03-03-2022, 07:20 PM
Hi all,

Recently acquired a 1996 Nissan Almera GTi after my previous car (a 1.5 Mk2 Almera) had a gearbox failure and terminal chassis rust. My old car was my first after getting my licence in 2012, and although was fine for me at the time, it came to be a bit dull and unfulfilling to drive.

This one isn't.

It had a couple of modifications when I bought it, most noticeably a stainless exhaust system and cone air filter. Other than that it's pretty much standard. I have some plans for it, top of the list being coilovers, as the ride hight (especially on the front) is ridiculous.

Found this forum online and thought it looked like a good place to sign up to! I'm already a member of the Almera Owners Club (albeit under a different username) and I recognised "FOSSIL FUELS" from the forum. Also met him a couple of times at Japfest last year, and AOC meets. I plan to be at Japfest again this year, so I might meet a few more of you OJC members there!

Hello

Hi, I am Jack, live in rainham in essex, i have an IS200 and will add some pictures later.

I am looking to either supercharge or 1gz gte engine swap and i am really unsure which to go for... I have done engine swaps in cars in the past but i have heard the electrics can be a pain in the ****, also looking at people projects they all seem to be done ages ago.

I would love to do an engine swap but would need a fair bit of information help, especially getting parts i would need and on the electrics.

But in the mean time i may get a supercharger (if i can find one)

Anyway any help is much appreciated

Cheers
