Power steering whine

I've just got a strange whine from the power steering on my is200 I no it is speed sensitive but it just seams to whine all the time any advice ?

I went over to TFS Performance in Aldershot, to see my old mate Stuart, who I hadn't seen for a while. We got chewing the fat about this and that, looked at a couple of his customers cars, a Blue WRX that had just had a full 400bhp engine rebuild,a Purple STi with a money no object 600 BHP ongoing engine project that has taken 10 months and various bits and bobs. I was looking at some of the battered Scoobys out the front and asked if they were spares cars. well, said Stu, not the red one, that's quite intresting and opened the bonnet.





To say I was shocked was an understatement!
This started life as an RA, the ultra light Impreza, that had been bought for £500 as a rolling shell. Stuarts boy had wanted to start drifting and an MX5 was bought and was sitting in the back of the workshop when Stu got thinking about the RA. Next thing it was converted to RWD and the gear sold for £250, a 2.0 Pintp and gearbox was bought for £250 and viola, a learner drift car that can get it's out, without being uncontrolable for £500. If he likes it and gets the bug, Stu's going to drop in a BMW V8 or SRDET lump.
When I showed a few mates the pics, the general reply was WTF! but when I look back to how easy it was to get the back out on a MK1/11 escort or capri, with about a hundred brake,it starts to make sense.

It's a bit different to Stu's own 800bhp Scooby, 'Monster' which he used to run in the old HKS Drag series

Hey All,

Thought i'd skip the newbie intro thread and dive straight into a build thread.


I've had the car about 8 weeks After selling my R32. When i bought the car I was adamant I wanted a standard example with full history. After a few weeks of hunting i found this one, the car had 75k, 3 previous owners and full history all bar the last service. The only down points were the wheels which had been sprayed a rank colour In my opinion And poor washing technique has left some serious swirls.

Last week I sent the wheels off to be resprayed, initially I wanted them championship white, but after some consideration I decided on just "white" I fitted them today, Although I still need centre caps and want white wheel nuts, as well as a locking one I'm pleased with the results.

Next up is a clutch, and eibach sport lines, with rear camber arms and front camber bolts. Heko wind defectors are on order too. I have quiet a lot planned so I hope you enjoy the thread as it progresses.

Sprinter's Mazda2 1.5 Sport

Well the Lexus has gone, and it's been replaced by a 2010 Mazda2 1.5 Sport. I've been boring and gone for black again, but this particular car had all the kit I wanted.

I even got a free Parrot MKi9000 Bluetooth system fitted by the dealer because the USB/iPod one I asked for came with a lead missing, result!

Averaged 49MPG since I picked it up on Wednesday, and that's including the 3 hours it took me to get home through stop/start rush hour traffic round the M25 that night. :Shooting:

Overall seems to be a nice little car, the reviews I read were all correct about the very firm ride and cabin noise. But coming from the Lexus makes it seem worse, nobody else seems to think it's that bad.

During 'normal' driving it feels exactly the same as the Lexus as far as acceleration goes, because while it does have 1/3 less power at only 103BHP, it does also weigh 1/3 less, at just over 1000KG. However you do feel the lack of torque in particular when you put your foot down.

I don't have any pictures of the actual car yet, but here's the only bit I do have a picture of...

Well here she is..... was after a diesel, however it had loads of extras and in such good condition I went for it!

Picked it up last week, but never took any pics, but just popped out and took a couple so its not as clean as when i picked her up..... had the windows tinted on the weekend too!




Got some plans to get some bigger wheels, lower it along with a few other bits!

Remote PC Shutdown - by OU

I know there's quite a few of us that work in IT so thought this would be the best place to ask! What's the best way to initiate an automated shutdown of a machine by OU? There's a number of people that don't shut down their machines so I wanted to put a script or similar into the group policy to initiate a shutdown of any machine still powered up at a certain time of the day.

Questions about H4 bulbs...

My Mazda2 has H4 in the dipped beam projectors, and 9005/HB3 in the high beam reflectors. And I'm looking at getting HIDs for the projectors so they match the LED DRLs it has, but the only H4 HID kits I can find seem to be B-Xenon?

Can you get single beam H4 HID bulbs? Because if you can then I can't see them. Or is it just a case of fitting the twin beam bulb and removing the shield or something?

Also, does anyone know if the Mazda2 has canbus on the lighting system?
