Wullie_trd's Toyota Altezza RS200
by wullie_trd, 02-09-2020, 05:18 PM
Right guys thought I'd post up my progress and what I've done to the car

Sorry if its a bit weird just copied it from another forum lol

Well after posting bits and peices all over the forum decided to finally get round to doing a build thread.

So in the beginning i contacted mike at Torque GT in devon about importing car to order ......... after around a 6 month wait this came up, 1999 with 92000kms

Won car at auctions so it was off to port ready to be shipped

After what seemed like an eternity ( 6 weeks) car finally arrived and was given MOT, Tax, Registration and service.

Flew down to exeter to collect drive home was EPIC!

[Image: 154685_454414796225_521976225_5936796_3228582_n.jpg]

First mod was to replace the factory head unit

Next up was to fit a set of 8000k HID lights

[Image: 76772_454418791225_521976225_5936863_1637396_n.jpg]

Next thing on the list was to do the exhaust, so got RJM in glenrothes to custom fit for me

before
[Image: phonepicsdec10121.jpg]

After
[Image: UllapoolFeb2011353.jpg]

[Image: 298042_1822191654861_1842308470_1213802_755011539_n.jpg]

The next thing on list of stuff to do was to get the timing belt kit ordered and fitted.

After the winter i got round to painting the brake calipers

Done front altezza badge to match calipers
Before
[Image: DSCF9406.jpg]
After
[Image: DSCF9414.jpg]

Also the winter had completly destroyed the alloys as can be seen in the pics above so got them sent off and painted the same colour as the car

Happy with the finish on them but only thing that bothered me ever so slightly was the colour match was not 100% .... but what can ya do lol

Megasquirt ECU?
by el_bandido, 01-09-2020, 09:26 PM
What's the verdict on these? Was thinking about a v3 for 1uzfe control. Anyone got a clue about them at all? Not sure how well an IS200 would function with these as a standalone in terms of A/C, heating etc. Not bothered about auto box control as I can apparently just wire in a transmission controller.

recommend an audio/phone kit retailer and installer in Bucks, MK or Beds?
by Mike430, 31-08-2020, 03:24 PM
Hi all,

Need a hands free phone plus iPod/USB lead instal done for my SC430 in the areas above - have been trolling around various places in the area but non have inspired confidence, esp as the car has a Mark Levinson with fibre optic (aka fussy and ££ to tap into) amp set up!

Would welcome your recommendations or advice on good places to try out.

Cheers

How do all, been a long time since ive been on but been very busy doing all sorts and starting new business ventures so no rest for the wicked!

But there was such a lovely sunset last night that i thought i should stick it up!

And i got asked to do all the photography for a music festival on friday and sat and heres one of a young lad lives on our estate, very brave, up on his own playing.

and one or two of the moon,

All of the above taken with my big 500mm , with the 1.6x crop factor of the sensor it equates to a pretty heafty 800mm lens, love it!

So for a long time i have hated not having enough work space in my garage, so i have being on the look out for a s/hand kitchen to fit into the garage, not going for style or looks just practicality.

Then last week a neighbour collared me and said that they were getting a new kitchen, so i offered to take their old one off their hands Big GrinBig Grin

Plus a mate of mine who's a kitchen fitter owed me a favor so today we cracked on and made a start.

The garage before we started.

As you can tell the weather was not on our side today!

[Image: 176539_10151055991806712_1972493018_o.jpg]

So some stuff couldnt be left outside so we had to make do with what space we had.

First few bases in.

As i left it, just got to find homes for stuff in the new bases, and get new sockets fitted this weekend.
