ok im going to have a little whinge in order to try and work out how we can get more people to attend shows and events especially the bigger organised ones as this is what the club as a whole attend the most, i appreciate that people have families and work and the price of petrol, blah blah blah lol, this has taken its toll already this year with the callender holding far less dates than last year, August with out an unattended event this should be the time the jap scene should be buzzin its bits off to the sound of engines and screetching smoking tyres, but nothing?
how as a club can we attract more people to come to events, theres now 1500+ users of this site and all love cars, so why do we only have 10 people attending santa pod finale and 40 for jae the only 2 shows left on the jap callender.
start booking time off work for these 2 amazing weekends, do some overtime to get a few more quid, sell ya looted tv lol.
please help keep the jap car scene alive or next year there may be no events to attend.

Bought a new sub tonight from eBay, was a JBL GTO 752 Amp with a JBL GT1202D 12" Subwoofer.
Got it home and tried it out indoors and it seemed to be clipping with the assumtion that it was blown due to no bass and flapping at medium to high volumes, so we thought we'd open it up, and to our surprise we found a few shocking things:
1) The wire was way too thin to run this sub and amp set up, pic below:
2) This sub is a dual voice coil and he only had one voice coil wired in, pic below:
3) He had wire in the negative on the box to the positive on the sub, which would mean the sub would be out of phase...
So we put thicker gauge wire in, wired it up to all terminals on the sub are being used, and it's all wired correctly to box and amp now.
Pics:
This is how thin the wire was in comparison to my index finger:

The way it was wired:

So the guy who sold us this set up had no clue of what he was doing in the slightest, but it's sorted now, so we'll try it tomorrow and see what it's like in the car!

Hi all,
I've been offerd a set of 18" lenso S73 rims need a refurb but not sure on fitment. He had them on a jaguar X type would the offset and stud pattern still be alright on a lexus is200.

I've got an o-ring that has split and is no longer a 'ring' as such.
The total length of it laid in a flat line is 440mm and the thickness of the rubber is 2mm.
Its been a long time since I did math, but would the 440mm count as the circumference and therefore the diameter would be 140mm?
And if I take into consideration that the thickness of the o-ring is 2mm, the OD should be 441mm and ID should be 339mm? Although the 1mm either ways is probably negligible as I'd imagine it can be stretched a tad if needed?
Hi all, new to the club so thought I'd better say hi.
I drive a gen 4 prelude with plenty of mods, however not put pics up yet as I'm in the Preocess of modding for JAE.
Hoping to pop by at JAE and say hi on my travels lol

Well I've entered the lex into a competition run by Maxolen.
Prizes include a paint correction and a shoot with the maxolen girls along with various other bits and pieces.
I'd really appreciate it if you could all take a few seconds to like the Chris Powell Maxolen page, and then the pic of my Lexus IS200 in the car competition album :thumbup1:
Link to the page is here: Click me!
Thanks guys!!
