Back-to-back Formula 3 victories for Mardenborough in Japan
by News Feeder, 11-07-2024, 06:44 PM
MOTEGI, Japan – GT Academy ace Jann Mardenborough dominated the action at last weekend's round of the Japanese Formula 3 championship, taking both race victories at Twin-Ring Motegi in Japan. The Brit recorded his sixth pole position of the year, his fifth fastest lap and fourth victory to extend his championship lead to 19 points.Mardenborough battled the wet conditions for qualifying for the Saturday race (round 11) and qualified second fastest. A last minute downpour before the green flag had the race beginning behind the safety car. After battling through the spray, Mardenborough made the pass for the race lead on lap 11 and went on to record the fastest lap of the race the next time around before taking the checkered flag.Sunday's race was even more dominant for Mardenborough. He qualified on pole, led from the start, scored the extra point for the fastest lap of the race, and he went on to win by 8.121 seconds."I was able to take victory in both a wet and dry race, so it was a really good weekend for me," said Mardenborough. "I crashed in Thursday's practice, but the team were able to get the car back in shape and it felt really good in both qualifying and the race. It's really fun to race at Motegi because the races really come down to hard braking battles. There are still five races remaining in the championship, so it might be a little early to be thinking about the title. I just want to focus on the next round and make sure I'm completely prepared for it."With teammate Katsumasa Chiyo recovering from a back injury from the last Super GT round, Nissan's Blancpain GT Series ace Mitsunori Takaboshi stepped aboard the No.23 Formula 3 machine for the weekend. The Japanese driver battled the weather for seventh place in Saturday's event and was battling for third place on Sunday before a late race spin forced him back to eighth position.Takaboshi has been added to the entry list alongside Chiyo and Satoshi Motoyama for the No.46 S Road Craftssports GT-R for the Suzuka 1000km next weekend. Back in Europe, Lucas Ordóñez will step aboard alongside Alex Buncombe for the Blancpain GT Series Sprint event at the Hurgaroring. Best way to celebrate #HappyBoltDay than with a #f3jp win. Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500 aims for five consecutive victories since opening round as it
by News Feeder, 07-07-2024, 01:46 PM
SUZUKA, Japan – Round 6 of the Autobacs Super GT 2016 season – the "45th International Suzuka 1000km" – will be held from August 27 to 28 at Suzuka Circuit in Japan. At 1000km, this race is over three times as long as the majority of rounds in the series and is often held under blistering summer heat, making it arguably the toughest race of the season. Series organizers held tests at Suzuka Circuit at the beginning of July, and preparations are all set for this red-hot, drawn out race.In this, the third year since new regulations were introduced, the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500 has been maintaining its formidable performance. Aiming for three consecutive series titles, the Michelin tire sporting #1 NISMO of Tsugio Matsuda/Ronnie Quintarelli achieved back-to-back victories in the opening round and round 2. Riding on Yokohama tires, the #24 Kondo Racing of Daiki Sasaki/Masataka Yanagida followed this up with a win in round 4, while Hironobu Yasuda/Joao Paulo Lima De Oliveira's Bridgestone tire wearing #12 Team Impul took the top spot in round 5 held the other day. Having taken victory in every race since the opening round, the might of the GT-R has been reaffirmed once again (round 3 at Autopolis was cancelled). The first day of testing in July was held under dry weather, while the second day was wet. The teams were able to attain a great deal of data under a variety of conditions. This is obviously not just the case for the four Nissan teams; their rivals were able to achieve the same. The Lexus RC F has taken victory here for the last two years, while the Honda NSX calls this course its home ground, so the rival camps will be hungry for glory going into this round and cannot be underestimated. In the GT300 class, Kazuki Hoshino, who has experience taking victory in the Suzuka 1000km in the GT500 class, teams up with GT Academy graduate Jann Mardenborough in the #3 NDDP Racing. They will be battling alongside defending champion, #0 Gainer that won at last year's Suzuka 1000km, and all eyes will be on these two as they head up a group of four Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s. This is the fifth season for the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 since its debut.NISMO CalendarAugust 20-21 Japanese Formula 3, Motegi, JapanAugust 27-28 European Le Mans Series, Paul Ricard, France Blancpain GT Series, Sprint Cup, Hungaroring, Hungary Super GT, Suzuka, Japan Australian Supercars, Sydney Motorsports Park, Sydney, AustraliaSeptember 3-4 FIA WEC, Mexico City, Mexico Micra Cup, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Canada # # # ContactJane Johnstone Marketing Communications Director Global Motorsport Communications Nissan/NISMO Phone: +44 7979 710646 Email: [email protected] Ryan Marketing and PR Manager Phone: +1 678 644 0404 Email: [email protected]

Internet searches for ‘best air purifier’ spike in line with rising air pollution con
by News Feeder, 06-07-2024, 04:20 PM
PARIS – Nissan – the company behind the world's best-selling zero emission electric vehicle, the Nissan LEAF – today uncovered data showing that rising levels of air pollution in Europe's capital cities are coinciding with a new sense of health consciousness amongst European citizens. The data shows that consumers are more attuned to health concerns than ever before, and are increasingly seeking their own solutions to help them "clean up" the air around them.Internet searches for the term "best air purifier" have risen over 750 percent in the UK, with the search spiking in June 2016, higher than it has ever been over the past 10 years. People are also curious about the air quality in the towns and cities where they live, with the search term "air quality index" seeing phenomenal growth of 750 percent and the phrase "air pollution facts" up 350%.[i]As air quality across Europe remains a cause for concern, Nissan has stepped up its own commitment to zero emissions, exploring technology that will contribute towards a greener, more sustainable environment. Beyond production of the fully electric Nissan LEAF and e-NV200, Nissan has announced a major partnership with energy provider Enel to trial vehicle-to-grid technology across Europe that will turn electric vehicles into clean mobile energy units, able to put energy back into the grid as well as take from it.Nissan has also confirmed plans to move into the residential home energy storage market, with the launch of its "xStorage" unit in Europe later this year in partnership with power management firm, Eaton. The system will not only give Nissan electric vehicle batteries a "second life," but will also provide a fully integrated energy storage solution that will put energy management and distribution back in the hands of the consumer. With the World Health Organization recently declaring that more than 80 percent of people living in urban areas that monitor air pollution are exposed to air quality levels that exceed the WHO limits, the problem is a global one.[ii] This has recently manifested itself in the number of poor air quality days declared across Europe's capital cities including Paris, where drivers with odd or even number plates were given authorization to drive on different days."For so long now, air pollution has been seen as a problem that affects people on the other side of the world," said Gareth Dunsmore, Head of Electric Vehicles, Nissan Europe. "This is a flawed perception because air pollution is impacting people and cities right here in Europe. Everyone has a role to play – ourselves included. By investing in zero emission technologies and putting a stake in the ground about how we can help people live healthier, smarter, greener lives, we hope it's a step in the right direction."According to recent reports[iii], the global air purifiers market is projected to exceed $59 billion by 2021, with rising levels of pollution and growing health consciousness among consumers propelling this trend. As a result, consumers are making new lifestyle choices to protect their health."As the world's best-selling 100-percent electric car, and with a driving range of up to 250 km on a single charge, the Nissan LEAF is a real motoring solution for consumers today," said Dunsmore. "Poor air quality affects everyone, and for every zero emission Nissan vehicle sold, we're one step closer to creating a cleaner and healthier environment in our cities." Over the last two years, poor air quality has threatened to shut down major capital cities as health concerns mount. Nissan has been pioneering the pure electric vehicle market since the introduction of the 100-percent electric, zero emission Nissan LEAF in 2010. With a focus on bringing Intelligent Mobility solutions to the masses, there are now more than 228,000 Nissan LEAFs on the road globally and almost 60,000 in Europe. About Nissan in EuropeNissan has one of the most comprehensive European presences of any overseas manufacturer, employing more than 17,000 staff across locally based design, research & development, manufacturing, logistics and sales & marketing operations. Last year Nissan plants in the UK, Spain and Russia produced more than 635,000 vehicles including award-winning crossovers, commercial vehicles and the Nissan LEAF, the world's most popular electric vehicle. Pursuing a goal of zero emissions and zero fatalities on the road, Nissan recently announced its Intelligent Mobility vision. Designed to guide Nissan's product and technology pipeline, this 360-degree approach to the future of mobility will anchor critical company decisions around how cars are powered, how cars are driven, and how cars integrate into society. Nissan is positioned to become the most desirable Asian brand in Europe. About Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
