Fuji Speedway, Shizuoka Prefecture (August 7th, 2016) - Round 5 of the SUPER GT was held at Fuji Speedway (Oyama, Sunt? District, Shizuoka Prefecture) on August 7th (Sun) during the first weekend of August, as the entire length of Japan was in the midst of sweltering midsummer heat. Here the #12 CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R (Hironobu Yasuda /Joao Paulo Lima De Oliveira) started from pole position and, through a superb performance, maintained a completely unthreatened lead right until they took a perfect race victory. With the #1 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R grabbing two consecutive victories in the opening round at Okayama and at the first Fuji race in May, followed by the #24 Forum Engineering ADVAN GT-R grabbing the win at the last round at SUGO, this has made it a 4-round winning streak for the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500. ith intense heat beginning from qualifying on the previous day, race day at Fuji Speedway saw hot conditions right from early in the morning. It was clear that the race could also expect some sweltering conditions. The parade lap began on schedule behind a precession of Shizuoka prefecture police vehicles and, after the GT cars carried out a rolling lap, the race kicked off at 2:42pm. Pole sitter, the #12 CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R began with Oliveira behind the wheel. He shot out in front of the pack with a blistering starting dash. In the initial stages the race proceeded in the order of the starting grid, with the No.46 S Road CRAFTSPORTS GT-R (Satoshi Motoyama/ Katsumasa Chiyo) and the #1 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (Tsugio Matsuda/Ronnie Quintarelli) in 2nd and 3rd respectively. However, with the #1 laden with 84kg of handicap weight, the #12 and #46 began to gradually pull away. Even between these top two machines, the #12 was unmistakably achieving a higher pace and the gap between the two steadily widened. After the race had entered into lap 20, the #12 had built up an over 11 second margin when an accident occurred on the course. The safety car was then dispatched in order for the resulting debris to be cleared from the track. Although this meant that the #12’s margin would be completely lost, when the safety car made way for pit road at the end of lap 24, Oliveira took advantage of a back-marker running between himself and the #46 to again rapidly build up a lead of a few seconds. At the 33-lap mark the #12 went into the pits for a routine stop and Oliveira handed the wheel over to Yasuda. Taking charge of the second stint Yasuda pushed hard right from his out-lap and began to expand the gap with the #46 that had pitted just one lap previous. From then on, after the #46 dropped out of the race, from lap 47 onwards he maintained an over 20-second lead over the rest of the pack and ticked off laps until completing an impeccable lights-to-flag finish and taking their first victory of the season. The #1 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R started from 3rd place on the grid, placing its first stint in the hands of Quintarelli, after which Matsuda took control for the second. Although it initially managed to keep pace with the top two #12 and #46, the 84kg handicap was clearly taking its toll and they were forced into a race of perseverance as they worked to preserve their tires. In spite of this, they were able maintain their 3rd placed position throughout the early stages of the race. However, at the time of pitting, they relinquished this spot to some lighter machines. After they pitted at lap 33, following the example of the #12 that was running comfortably in the lead, Matsuda took the reins from Quintarelli and headed out for the second stint. The #1 moved into 4th place and Matsuda continued their fierce pursuit of those ahead, gradually closing in on the two machines battling it out for 2nd. Unfortunately, there really was no overcoming the effect of the significant weight handicap and he was unable to move up any further, ultimately finishing in 4th. This earned them 8 more championship points and further cemented their position as the ranking leader. The #46 S Road CRAFTSPORTS GT-R that was expected to battle it out with the #12 for the top spot, started from 2nd on the grid with Satoshi Motoyama at the helm. As expected it was initially holding its own up against the #12. After pitting one lap earlier than the #12, Katsumasa Chiyo took the wheel for the second half and immediately pushed hard right from the out-lap but one lap later went off course at the first corner due to mechanical trouble that put an end to their race. As for the #24 Forum Engineering ADVAN GT-R (Daiki Sasaki / Masataka Yanagida) that started from 6th place on the grid, some unfortunate engine trouble forced them into an early retirement. In the GT300 the #3 B-MAX NDDP GT-R (Kazuki Hoshino / Jann Mardenborough) began the race from 17th place on the grid. Despite this Hoshino pulled out a hard push forward that Mardenborough followed up on in the second stint. As a result, they achieved an impressive 6th place finish that earned them 6 essential championship points.Comment from TEAM IMPUL team principal, Kazuyoshi Hoshino, “I’m relieved we finally got a win. We were running at a good pace right from the start but carrying out a race where we’re being chased rather than doing the chasing is not the best feeling. The reason I told JP (Oliveira) to pit in early is because I saw the timing of the #46, who we were doing battle with, and decided that it would be best to tell him to come in. The effort from the whole team has seen us also grab the ZF Award (best mechanic award). The fact that we couldn’t get a result in the last two rounds is on me, but I think I’ve been able to clear that off my record with today’s win. We’ll continue to fight hard in the next round.”Comment from NISMO’s team principal, Yutaka Suzuki, “Considering we were carrying [84kg of] weight I think we had a pretty good race. It’s not the absolute best we could do but I think for the most part we carried out our race as planned under the expected conditions. We’ve managed to increase our lead as point leader over the next rival in 2nd so that’s good. Continuing to have races like this will be what takes us all the way to being series champion.”[GT500 Race Result] 66LapsPosNoMachineDriverTime / Behind112CALSONIC IMPUL GT-RHironobu Yasuda / J.P.De Oliveira1:51’53.223217KEIHIN NSX CONCEPT-GTKoudai Tsukakoshi / Takashi Kogure25.4243100RAYBRIG NSX CONCEPT-GTNaoki Yamamoto / Takuya Izawa28.65041MOTUL AUTECH GT-Rsugio Matsuda / Ronnie Quintarelli28.940536au TOM’S RC FDaisuke Ito / Nick Cassidy30.83168ARTA NSX CONCEPT-GTKosuke Matsuura / Tomoki Nojiri36.730738ZENT CERUMO RC FYuji Tachikawa / Hiroaki Ishiura45.837839DENSO KOBELCO SARD RC FHeikki Kovalainen / Kohei Hirate49.01796WAKO'S 4CR RC FKazuya Oshima / Andrea Caldarelli55.3101019WedsSport ADVAN RC FYuhi Sekiguchi / Yuji Kunimoto1’33.221DNF46S Road CRAFTSPORTS GT-RSatoshi Motoyama / Katsumasa Chiyo32LapsDNF24Forum Engineering ADVAN GT-RDaiki Sasaki / Masataka Yanagida55Laps [GT300 Race Result] 62LapsPosNoMachineDriverTime / Behind155ARTA BMW M6 GT3Shinichi Takagi / Takashi Kobayashi1:52’46.623221Hitotsuyama Audi R8 LMSRichard Lyons / Tomonobu Fujii0.106361SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORTTakuto Iguchi / Hideki Yamauchi10.762488MANEPA LAMBORGHINI GT3Manabu Orido / Kazuki Hiramine28.94854GOODSMILE HATSUNE MIKU AMGNobuteru Taniguchi / Tatsuya Kataoka28.95463B-MAX NDDP GT-RNobuteru Taniguchi / Tatsuya Kataoka33.21390GAINER TANAX GT-RAndre Couto / Ryuichiro Tomita1Lap1248DIJON Racing GT-RMitsunori Takaboshi / Takayuki Aoki1LapDNF360RUNUP Group&DOES GT-RYusaku Shibata / Atsushi Tanaka52Laps ?GT500 point standings?DriversPosNoDrivertotal11Tsugio Matsuda / Ronnie Quintarelli50412Hironobu Yasuda / J.P.De Oliveira28624Daiki Sasaki / Masataka Yanagida221046Satoshi Motoyama / Katsumasa Chiyo15 TeamsPosNoDrivertotal11NISMO62512TEAM IMPUL33924KONDO RACING281046MOLA22 ?GT300 point standings? Been looking replacing my headunit with a tablet, read far too much information, all saying different ways to do it and I'm confusing myself. Anybody here done it and what pitfalls do I need to look out for?
The way I'm proposing to do it is by simply splicing into the lighter and adding another one hidden underneath. So when the car is on, it's always being charged and when the car is turned off power is cut to the tablet and it goes into sleep mode. Audio is being sorted via the 3.5mm jack to RCA to amp to speakers method. With a manual gain controller sorting out volume.
It sounds too simple...
Morning, new to the club/forum. Having owned my is200 for just over a year now.
Time had come to meet like minded people so hopefully get to some show soon.

Advanced full-electric battery powertrain with stunning performance and dynamic handlingZero-emission driving fun with central driving position and two passenger seats behindRIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled the working prototype of its futuristic Nissan BladeGlider vehicle, combining zero-emissions with high-performance in a revolutionary sports car design. The vehicles, developed from concept cars first shown at the Tokyo Auto Show in 2013, have arrived in Brazil to symbolize future technologies that will combine Intelligent Mobility, environmentally friendly impact and sports-car driving capabilities.Carlos Ghosn, president and chief executive officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. said: "These prototypes epitomize Nissan's drive to expand its Intelligent Mobility philosophy, where driving pleasure combines with environmental responsibility. Nissan believes that enthusiasts should look forward to a zero emission future and Nissan BladeGlider is a perfect demonstration of that. It's the electric vehicle for car lovers."The debut of the Nissan Bladeglider prototypes forms part of Nissan's on-going commitment to the development of zero-emission vehicles and new automotive technologies including autonomous drive systems and connectivity. Nissan already sells the world's highest-volume zero-emission car, the LEAF, and is pioneering Intelligent Mobility systems that will be deployed in a range of vehicles over coming years. With the Nissan Bladeglider, Nissan's vision was for an agile, efficient EV that would provide new dimensions of driving fun and excitement – a car that would "glide," thanks to the near-silent performance of its electric powertrain and aerodynamic shape. After two years of work on design, engineering and development, Nissan BladeGlider has evolved further into an exciting, real-life study into the potential of advanced EV performance. Nissan BladeGlider epitomizes Intelligent Mobility, a philosophy to make its cars more exciting by redefining how they are driven, powered and integrated into society. The demonstration models feature an advanced chassis configuration with a narrow front track and wider rear track for optimum aerodynamic efficiency and handling stability.High-waisted, rear-hinged dihedral doors provide a dramatic entry and exit to the cabin. The open roof of Nissan BladeGlider is reinforced with an integrated roll-over protection structure, providing the exhilaration of an open-topped race car with the safety of a coupe.Wheel-mounted controls for Nissan BladeGlider's systems feed into an advanced display showing speed, state of battery charge, regeneration mode and torque map. Flanking the central display are two screens, with the images of rear-view cameras mounted just behind the front wheels. An alternative to door-mounted mirrors, this dual screen design improves the aerodynamic efficiency of Nissan BladeGlider. The driver sits in arrowhead formation slightly in front of two passengers, who enjoy extended legroom. The view for all occupants is panoramic thanks to the seamless cockpit windscreen.Power is 100 percent electric, with exceptional powertrain performance delivered by Nissan's technical partner for the Nissan BladeGlider project, UK-based Williams Advanced Engineering. Maximum speed of the demonstration models is in excess of 190km/h*, with 0-100km/h taking less than five seconds*. The rear wheels' drive is provided by two 130kW electric motors – one for each wheel. The system features torque vectoring, controlling the torque delivered to the driven wheels, improving the handling even further. With torque vectoring, if the car starts to understeer, it automatically sends more torque to the outside wheel to restore the handling balance.Designed to add to the driving experience rather than govern it, the torque vectoring system has three settings: off, agile and drift mode.Power is supplied by a high performance, five module lithium-ion 220kW battery. Bespoke cooling systems have been developed for both the battery and the motors. The interior of the Nissan BladeGlider reflects the vehicles' sporting intentions, with four point safety harnesses for each occupant. The seats offer exceptional support to sides and legs of the driver and passengers. The seats are trimmed in a highly tactile blend of fabric and epoxy resin coating, resulting in a tough and grippy material that has the effect of comfortably securing occupants in place. There are two color trims – Cyber Green and Stealth Orange. These colors are used for the upper portions of the seat back and framed with a silver reflective material to create an eye-catching, sporty look. The base of the seats is in black, patterned material, with a band of green and orange trim framing the cushion. Two Nissan BladeGliders will be presented in Rio de Janeiro in August. One will be on static display in Rio while the second will be offering dynamic rides to media and VIPs.Nissan BladeGlider key statisticsTop speed>190km/h (115mph)*Acceleration 0-100km/h (62mph)< 5 seconds*Power 200kW (268 hp)Torque707NmWeight1300kgLength4300mmWidth1850mmHeight1300mmWheelbase2800mm*Figures recorded by Williams Advanced EngineeringAbout Nissan Motor Co.
