Today I went to the Duxford Imperial War Museum's spring car and bike show. It was awesome, despite the weather!! Some seriously tasty metal on 2 wheels, 4 wheels, treads and wings There were a couple of demonstration flights but the weather was a bit naff so not as many as usual. Plus I got to go in Concorde! I've never been to the IWM before so the attraction was double but even if you have been before it would be a good day out. Seeing all the work-in-progress restorations of WW2 planes they have fished out of the sea and stuff was pretty cool too, you get to go in the workshops and watch their people at work.

We were one of the better turned out clubs and we had about 30 cars. The outlaws should definitely attend the next one :thumbup: Sadly that's not until this time next year though!

i really would of been stumped setting my car up today :thumbup:

in the pouring rain these gents came to my house in the earlyish morning to help me get my car up and running.
i expected a phone call saying 'no can do look at weather' and tbh who would blame them cos i certainly wouldn't of.
but no they came round as they said to set the timing up on my motor.
car seems to be fine now and i have a huge smile on my face :thumbup1:

... but rather than necropost one of them (as they seem to have been dead for a while, mostly) I figured I'd do my own...

I didn't buy the IS cos it does great mileage, but I've found it to be better than my last car hock: which was a horrible Zafira... (passed that onto the old man now :lol

I've seen that Ormi got 210 miles out of a full tank of v-power, and that was a bit of an eye opener.

I've been running on standard unleaded since I bought the car in Feb, and was getting 340 miles to a tank, which I thought was pretty good. But last week I filled up with v-power (cos the standard pump was out of order and I couldn't be bothered moving to another pump) and lo and behold, 381 miles later the wee light has come on.

Not only did the car feel smoother and more responsive, but I got 41 extra miles for about a fiver extra in the tank.

I finally understand why people pay for the more expensive petrol - and have joined those ranks...

Now all I gotta do is work out what that is in mpg :lol:
