Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been posting up much on OJC over the past fortnight.
There has a been a personal issue that I (well the wife and I) have been trying to come to terms with. Now I feel that I can talk about. Bit of background info first...
The wife and I have been trying to start a family now for a few years. The time is/was right for us now (both have good jobs/careers, built our own home etc). We are now approaching our late 20's/early 30's, so we thought now is a good time to start our family (at least we can provide/put a roof over us and our children).
As nothing happened naturally, my wife decided to see our GP who then refered her to a specialist. Since then she has been undergoing fertility treatment and before Easter we were told that my wife has cancerous cells in her uterus (Cancer in her womb). The specialists have tried (but failed) to remove the cancer, but we have to face the reality that the wife needs a hysterectomy (at the age of 27) to remove the cancer, meaning we won't be able to have any children. As you can understand, we have been totally devasted by this news (more so the wife).
We are from a indian background, those of you who are from a similar background (well regardless of background/culture I suppose) will know that having a child/children is the done thing- its natural to have a baby. We haven't told our parents as yet for 2 reasons: 1. How do you tell your parents the you will not be able to have children (they won't have grandchildren) and 2. My wife had a MRI scan last week to determe how bad the cancer is (there is a chance that if her eggs have not been affected by the cancer, then surrogacy may be a possibility). We are due to get the MRI results tomorrow.
All is not lost, as we know that we can adopt, and also our Sister-in-law (wife's brother missus) has told us that she is willing to be a surrogate for us. My priority right now is my wife's health.
Apologies for the long thread, but I wanted to get things off my chest.
Thanks
Kam.
hi all - ive had one of the above stereos kicking about for a while now-i pulled it out my car when my friends knee knocked the motorised front off during some spirited driving-im in need of the clips and sliders that refit the front as they were bent and are now lost-i have put it in a couple of stereo shops locally to get fixed but they were both more interested in buying it then fixing it-it was a pretty top of the line head unit a few years ago and i still see them go for silly money on ebay-its too good to throw away so i would be glad to hear from anyone in the industry who might be able to source the side fixings for me or give me any clues what to do-failing that i will be putting it up on swaps for something usable in my lex
Ive cleaned , polished and waxed the car , but what do i do now/next ? say the car is dirty , do i wash the car with just water or use a car shampoo , and do i have to keep waxing or is there another product to use ?

Had to take some Garden rubbish the tip in the car today so got muck all over the insides which meant giving it a good clean out, so thought i'd do the outside aswell, just a wash and dry no polish but still looks quite shiney:biggrin: what do you think?

Say you have a bad condition rim, has corrosion all over it, paint coming off yeah? You want to refurbish your wheel.
Jack your car up and remove the 5 nuts holding the wheel on place.
First of all, buy some paint stripper from your local DIY shop, homebase, b&q. We used Nitromors from homebase.
Then spread an even coat all over the corroded wheel. Let paint blister, then give another coat, then wait about 5 mins, and give a third coat, wait another 5 minutes and try and scrape the paint off, if there are still patches of paint, then put more coats of paint stripper on.
Wash your wheel down, to remove all paint and paint stripper.
Wait for wheel to dry.
Then if you see white clumps on your wheel, you have corrosion, you want to get some wet and dry sand paper, we used p800 and p400, and it worked a treat. (we only have after pics, no before ones)
Paint stripped but corrosion still on alloy.

After corrosion rubbed off (the grey part is not corrosion, this is just where paint has come off. (I do not know why the wheel looks so grey, it was not this grey!) ![[Image: DSCF0072.jpg]](http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll49/Oliere2k8/DSCF0072.jpg)
Then you have to put a layer of primer, once you are definitely sure all is smooth and corrosion rubbed off.
Primed using orange primer (2 coats)

Then once primer has dried, start evenly spraying your alloy again, with any paint colour of your choice.

![[Image: DSCF0077.jpg]](http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll49/Oliere2k8/DSCF0077.jpg)
Then apply your lacquer, do 2 coats to make it extra shiny.

Clean center cap, and put it back on.
Then clay the whole wheel, to make sure all the little bits, and over coat of paint is removed.
Then put your wheel back on the car and admire your work. Do it to as many wheels as need be.
Don't forget rep lol
