information
Quote:Category A
A vehicle which should have been totally crushed, including all its spare parts.
Category B
A vehicle from which spare parts may be salvaged, but the bodyshell should have been crushed and the car should never return to the road.
Category C
An extensively damaged vehicle which the insurer has decided not to repair, but which could be repaired and returned to the road.
Category D
A damaged vehicle which the insurer has decided not to repair, but which could be repaired and returned to the road.
Category F
A vehicle damaged by fire, which the insurer has decided not to repair.
Theft
These vehicles have not been recovered and ownership rests with the insurer who made the total loss payment. They are able to repossess the car as soon as it is identified, even if it has been bought innocently.

from what I know, cat C the car has to be inspected before returning to the road

Cat D you dont, but correct me if im wrong !

Mine was cat B as seen in my avater

A Cat D is recorded.
A Cat C has to have a VIC (Vehicle Identification Check) test before it can be put on the road. A lot of people think this is some form of gruelling test. It is simply to check the chasis numbers all match up.

mines a cat d as I bought it damaged and it was my project. as anees said a cat d is recorded but doesnt need s VIC check to put it back on the road, only an mot, but a cat c needs a VIC check as well as mot to put it on the road.

Insurance is charging you £221 for not adding the induction kit to your insurance?
