On what car, an IS200 ?

fault code - steviewevie - 16-02-2018

Assuming it is an IS200, what sort of code reader was used ? That doesn't sound like a normal OBD-II code, it should be something like Pxxxx.

Does the car seem down on power/mis-firing ?

Which TRC light is flashing, is it the one with the pic of the car skidding, or the "TRC OFF" light ? Could be a coil pack.

yep is200 car is running fine it was a bosch machine so not sure

it was the TRC OFF

If it is a coil pack, it can be harder to notice on the IS200 given it's a 6-cylinder engine and is very smooth.

You could do with trying to get the proper OBD-II fault code though. Presumably the engine management light is on ?

TRC OFF flashing shows there's a problem with the TRC area. But this can be caused by a coil pack too.

I've got a standalone reader since I don't have a laptop. Some of the other guys will be able to help you out with USB cables etc.

Especially if it's intermittent, I think it's quite likely to be a coil pack. You'll need the codes though to confirm that and to start narrowing down which one it is, if that is indeed the problem. An actual TRC/ABS problem is possible though less likely IMHO.
