You need a bypass cable. You need to remove the plug from the amp, attached the lead then feed it across to the stereo.
If you look in the audio section there is a walk through.

You need a bypass cable. You need to remove the plug from the amp, attached the lead then feed it across to the stereo.

Have a look on ebay for that cable and it will make sense and all u do is plug that in and run it to the headunit

The amp is tucked away in the passanger footwell behind the plastic cover. The Amp bypass cable converts plugs into the Amp and has normal connections on so you can fit an after market head unit.
Have a look on ebay for that cable and it will make sense and all u do is plug that in and run it to the headunit
This means that the wires that go to the speakers are all in a plug in the footwell. If you're going to fit a conventional stereo those wires need to attach to the back of your new stereo, not be sat around in the footwell. The bypass cable extends the speaker wiring up to the dashboard, where your new stereo will fit.

Think of it like this: Most car stereos have an amp built in to them. It's the bit that connects to the speakers. In your new stereo, this is all one box. The factory Lexus stereo is split in to two boxes, so the controls and the cd reader are in the dashboard but the bit that actually creates the sound and is connected to the speakers is in a box in the passenger footwell.
