Computer monitor / TV
Might try the cardboard thing, I worked out the rough dimensions and sort of held up paper against my monitor to see the difference but the cardboard thing might give a better impression. But you're right, a 24" will have exactly the same height as my current monitor, so all I'll get is a few inches of extra width, which on a computer monitor is a little pointless.
The other thing I just thought about is that I'm currently running 1280x1024 on the 19", so if I move to 24" @ 1920x1080 will everything be quite small? I know you can alter font sizes and such, but that always makes everything look a bit distorted............I think I do need to go to a shop and see them side by side before I can make any kind of decision.
