parthiban Do you mean 2 years since you've given it a proper clean, or 2 years since it's been washed in any form (other than the bodyshop wash you mentioned)?hock:

Can you tell me what you used to clean the chrome tip?
I have used Autosol and although it brings up the shine it doesn't remove all of the tar spots(despite furious rubbing:blushing::biggrin
.I'm not too sure about using a Dremmel in case I end up damaging the chrome.
Good job. My last IS was Astral Black and I found it a nightmare to keep clean,even during the summer.
Can you tell me what you used to clean the chrome tip?
I have used Autosol and although it brings up the shine it doesn't remove all of the tar spots(despite furious rubbing:blushing::biggrin.

.use tar remover, it will soften the tar.

I didn't want to use anything that may scour or scratch into the chrome so I'll give this a try.

I left it to soak in hot/soapy water for an hour then I scrubbed off the tar with a blunt stanley blade (didn't press too hard otherwise I would have scratched the chrome). Then to shine it up I used some t-cut.
Glad the rest of you guys like my car- even though its a standard IS200 and not a turbo/supercharged monster.
