the engine in your car is from a rav 4... also look for a blackish colour/ tint in your coolant bottle if their is your engine needs a rebuild the warranty was extended on the egr's and the rebuilds too 120,000 or 7 years but you must have a stamped up service book..

your egr is blocked very very common!!i do lots of these remove and clean......

Thats just another suggestion incase others come out clear.

23-08-2018, 05:01 PM #19Another reason why cars would burn oil, is if the valve seals have gone. This would only cause blue smoke on startup because the oil running down. Happened on the Mrs Corsa.

Took it to lexus yesterday afternoon and they couldnt replicate the issue
however the oil was below minimum (although when i checked the other day it read half inch above maximum :blink:
Although the Service Tech tsaid that the IS220's oil check tube can sometimes retain enough oil to take a dodgy reading
so they've topped me up again and ive got to re-check after 500 miles and go back in after 1000 miles to check its not over-using the oil
if not then that appears to of been the issue
