you can install certain OS images onto an SD card, they have to be ARM distributions though. As I said earlier, centrafuse won't run on an ARM system. It's basic enough as an X86 linux image, let alone an ARM one. If you want a centrafuse system, you will need a more powerful computer capable of running at least windows XP.

on the pi? I've yet to find anyone successful and I've been sat on the pi forums for ages, it's gone down now. Try the centrafuse forums but last time I checked, ARM was a no go.

Moley This is like a foreign language LOL

 Moley, it's a computer. About the size of a credit card, costing about £20-£30 or so. As you might imagine, it's expected to sell out (and I believe that the first run of 10,000 units were all sold the first day - hence people registering for a waiting list to buy one) very quickly. It was designed to make it cheap for schools etc to buy them and try to get kids interested in computer programming.

It's fairly basic - an ARM processor isn't massively powerful. In simple terms it's using what is basically the processor from a mobile phone, but it has a wide range of possible uses as it has the most basic needs covered - it can output in HD, it can be networked, and it accepts its input via USB devices (like your mouse or keyboard on your PC).

The OS is the operating system and is a cut down version of Fedora Linux. Think of it as an alternative to Windows (which would require a lot more resource than this computer can really support).

The OS is supplied on an SD Card (same thing you plug into your camera or mobile phone) which you plug into the computer. You can swap that OS for another by changing the card, so long as the processor can cope with the OS.

Centrafuse (used in car PCs etc) might well be too resource intensive to work with this computer - but I reckon that you could fairly easily spin up Android onto the computer, which of course makes Torque (the app I use on my phone to run against the car, I showed you at JAE...) a possibility.

Any clearer matey?

its both tbh mate. Price is the key thing but with this being very new to the market although limited a bit by its cpu its got potenial to be utilised in areas where space and power drain are key. Is there anything out the like centrafuse for android though?

I use Torque on Android, it reads the ecu sensors to provide info, lets you reset fault codes etc.. I dunno what centrafuse provides to answer the question though! Have a quick google for torque and Android, you'll see what it offers...
