el_bandido Even with the thor conversion kit I reckon it would be cheaper than a 1jz swap. Plus you don't have to worry about an intercooler or faffing about with turbochargers to hit 350 horse.

Like i said before I have read a few threads and from the info I have found out the conversion isnt super difficult, there are a few different clutch and flywheel options an havent fully decided which one to go for, the VVti engine can easily get 350hp with nothing more than a decent exhaust system and intake, but it is worth changing the con rods in the later engine as they are quite weak, you can either get forged ones or replace them with a set from a pre 98 engine (non VVti) which are stronger

P.s. yes it will need a fuel return line added but going to run new hoses anyway so wont be hard to add it to the system

Yeah, that will be one of the last things I do but I will write up everything as I do it :-)

Well the car is completely fixed from the damage and goes in for it's MOT tomorrow so fingers crossed all is well, took it for a quick drive today on some private roads and it ran smoothly, no knocks or bumps but think the rear pads have seen better days

Woo it passed :-)
Got an advisory for the front discs being low and one of the rear shocks leaking, apart from that she is all good, VIC test is booked for Monday the 31st and already looking at coilovers instead of replacing the shock :-)

Look forward to reading your thread mate, how much experience at this sort of thing do you have? When funds allow I would like to do this conversion too. Have you had a quote for a drive in drive out conversion from Thor? Because this is beond my level of DIY! Lol!
