Hi guys, I have tried disconnecting 1 coil pack at a time while the car was running but each one I disconnected caused the car to stall, wasn't able to remove the spark plugs as I didn't have a socket long enough, what do you think it could be if it is not the coil packs?

Also when I am driving the engine light flashes on and off along with the trc off light but sometimes the flashing stops and the engine light stays on solid then starts flashing again, very weird, any other suggestions or will an obd2 reader be the next course of action?

Any one know anyone near me with a diagnostic tool?

Take it to a garage with an OBD2 Reader mate and give us the code to look up.

Okay mate, I might do that or just use the obd2 reader you gave me the link to which I ahve just bought and will have by tuesday at 12pm, do you know where I plug the obd2 reader in and is it okay to do it while the engine is running?

Quick question, even though the car cut off when I unplugged each coil pack could it still be a faulty coil pack?

It could be mate, I know of a friend who did that on his car when it was a dead coilpack and even though he unplugged it it still cut the car out, but as soon as the coilpack was actually removed it was then shown that the coilpack was dead. Don't know why.

also remember to clear all fault codes first before you do your diagnostics, as you have pulled each coil pack apart whilst engine was running and that will show "multiple cylinder misfire", that may lead you up the wrong path

thanks guys, I will do that before posting the codes, never thought of doing that, I had a coil pack issue almost a year ago but then the car would just die and not misfire at all, strange, if it is a coilpack do you recommend a brand new one or will a used one do fine, I am only asking as this is my only car so am trying to think ahead
