Fallen in love with Dyna
by mark3, 30-05-2021, 03:56 PM
Dyna Soarer that is, the new toy, 1994 (May) UZZ31, an automatic 4 litre V8 on air suspension with TEMS and an after market hight controller too and a custom exhaust that sounds FABULOUS, its here and has been since the beginning of the month and I LOVE IT, have fallen completely head over heals in love with it.....

Needed a few bits doing to it, the most annoying was the anti hijack (auto locking doors) needed disabling as it drives me insane. was an easy fix just had to snip one wire and the sun roof creaked but that was fixed by tightening 2 screws lol

Air con leak solved, compressor un seized and system gassed and that's now working too

K11 upgrade?
by ZAIS200, 27-05-2021, 11:48 AM
It seems the modifying god are hiniting at plans for my future already...
Looks like their may be a little K11 in my future but it won't be staying OEM,

A colleague may be selling a K11 Nissan Micra and considering it needs a bit of work and may even need urgent selling i may be inclined to pick this little "Noddy car" a steal... ie: sub 750euro's, including road tax and NCT(MOT) and as its a coleagues I already know it has a few extra's like power steering and electric windows...

Seing as this little car is only a 1L i will most definitely be making a few upgrades especially because it needs to be able to run me up to the local Tesco's in a hurry but take the missus to work and back with enough grunt to over take the snails on our roads...

So i'm planning an engine swap with the use of a 4EFTE 1300 16V EFI Turbo from a Starlet GT or Glanza Turbo, considering the numerous searches done on line and not finding a single mention of this being done before i may be looking at a challenge with this one but if i get it right it may prove to be quite a nice cheeky little combination.

Any advice and or comments would of course be welcome, and if any of you know if this has been done before please let me know where and when so i can look a few things up

Kerb rash repair
by Sparkystav, 24-05-2021, 03:38 AM
Anyone got any tips for repairing a kerbed alloy?

managed to catch my rear passenger coming off a roundabout, one spot but deeper than just paint.

Anyone any ideas?

thanks

Exhaust legality
by James S, 22-05-2021, 04:46 PM
Just been doing a bit of browsing on the old tinterweb. And came across this page.

http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/modified-cars...ed-to-know

And found this section at the bottom quite interesting........

Exhaust system

All exhaust silencers must be maintained in a good and efficient working order. You will be breaking the law if you remove a silencer or make any modification that would make that vehicle emit a noise louder than the original exhaust before it was modified.

Can anyone clarify this for me? As I am a bit concerned about the fact I have removed a silencer from my exhaust system and it is significantly louder then standard.
