no not the lexus but the toyota corolla verso, paid 120000 swedish for it 1 year ago and sold it for 125000 swedish. so will be picking up a verso 2011 with full chrome pack and sunroof on tuesday just looking at some mods for it. want to lower it and pick up some side skirts and front spoiler only thing is that it's silver wanted a black one but there are none at the moment

convertible hood sealer

So, first convertible I've owned and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to use to wash/treat/seal a convertibles fabric hood. Any product names etc would be awesome

Yeah so im new. Bought an S2000 a few days ago and have been scaring the **** out of myself and any willing passengers since. Roundabouts are certainly more fun than theyve ever been before

Hiya im Lesley, Gareth's Partner (MrGash) thought id join up after meeting you all at the Cambridge meet tonight. Was good fun meeting you all and ill be attending as much as Gareth lets me lol only joing hun x.

i dont drive but im a massive honda fan and like other japanese and american cars. look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Well I've been driving my Lexus for approx 4 weeks and and dare I say, unless something drastically happens, I'll never drive another car. She (Milissa) is so sweet. I thought my Mazda was good but the Lex is in a class of it's own. I have not done any mods (mechanically) and I dont think I will. Done a few bits (visually), Wheels, Calipers, plus other bits and pieces, and about to get grille surround and wing mirrors in carbon fibre. Reading thru the threads on the forum it's awfully hard not to spend money on her, I often try to avoid logging on so I can save some money. I have not posted any pics as I am such a lazy git, I'll get round to it one day, maybe summertime. Thats all for now folks.

PS: I bought private plates tonight.. Bank account £300+ lighter. I blame you guys :lol:

The AMG modding begins....

Well as most of you will know, I purchased a Mercedes E55 AMG a few months ago and have gone a bit quiet since then. Well I'm pleased to say that the modding bug is slowly catching hold again, so I thought it best to start my own project thread.

Here's how she was the day I bought here...





Unfortunately due to transmission issues she had to go back to the dealership for a complete rebuild at a total cost of £2400 (lucky I wasn't paying).

When she came back I treated her to...

- K&N Air Filters
- Complete strip-down clean of intake/manifolds
- Oil and filter change
- Rear diff oil change
- 16 new spark plugs (man that was a tedious job!)
- New supercharger oil
- New valvecover gaskets (one was leaking)
- New supercharger belt and accessory belt

All work was done by me which I'm quite proud of as it's a lot more complex than the 2JZ in my old IS300.


To prevent the intake manifolds from getting gunked up again I fitted two catch cans:





I also acid bathed the intake manifolds - you can see the colour difference between the supercharger in the middle and the two AMG bits at either side.

Then I fitted some AMG pedals...



Got rid of the Mercedes emblem that yoofs like to try and pinch...



And finally fitted a rather nice looking rear spoiler...





I've also fitted a tracker to the car which can cut the fuel pump if I send it a command via text message



Although I'm going a bit slower with the mods to this car, a few of the things on my list to do which seem worthwhile are...

- Meth injection as the car suffers quite badly from heat soak due to the massive engine and supercharger all crammed in the engine bay.

- Some modifications to the air intake system (larger diameter pipes and air scoops behind the front grille)

-Exhaust headers as the OEM ones are really restrictive and going aftermarket can reease 40whp!

- Magnaflow back boxes for more GRRRRRRR

- CarPC install

This car is an ongoing project and i don't know if i'll ever stop doing thing do it, i've already dropped nearly double what i payed for it in to modifying it. I'll list all thats been done to her so far and whats planned for the future.

So after my old GT Four wasn't working out so well as a daily i decided i needed something a bit more economical but still fun and a little bit different.



A friend of mine suggested taking a look at a Toyota Levin or Trueno AE111. I had never seen or even heard of one before, but looked them up and fell in love with them. I found one on PistonHeads and it was a pretty untouched model that was a fair bit cheaper than the others on the site at the time so i got in contact with the guy and went to take a look at it.







As you can see she turned out to be mint and un abused, i even felt bad for haggling with the guy. Had a full service history no money had been spared on keeping her in top condition. This was the first time i'd seen one in the metal and i fell in love with her there and then, handed over some cash and drove her away.

First thing i did was cleaned up the OEM Wind Deflectors that came with the car so i could add that little bit of JDM flair.

They were covered in old adhesive tape which was a lot harder to get off than i thought it would be.

The next thing i did was fitted a new exhaust system, out of necessity more than choice. The backbox brackets on the stock system rusted through and the rear section of my exhaust fell off two days before i was due to drive to Germany.

Some metal cable ties saved the day though and the exhaust held fast for the whole 1500mile trip.



When i got back from Germany someone was selling a Kakimoto Red Label Full Stainless system for a decent price so i went and picked it up.

Unfortunately it didn't come with any Gaskets and nowhere seemed to stock any so it was a case of sourcing them from Japan or welding a sleeve on.

I went with the sleeve as it was the quickest option.









And a video of the exhaust because everybody loves videos :thumbup:



It was apocalyptically loud so now has a bung fitted :whistling: Like i set off car alarms as i went by loud, i was scared i was gonna get an ASBO :gay:
