Windscreen
by Jaminglish, 11-10-2019, 09:49 PM
I've worked on cars for years,(not anymore) and watched numerous windscreens fitted, but I never heard of a windscreen dam. Can someone explain?

colt head unit adaptors
by valo, 11-10-2019, 07:36 PM
I bought this headunit adaptor kit from ebay, so I could install my sony blu-tooth headunit only to find out that the lead supplied doesn't suit the colt.

Anoyingly the colt adaptor harness isn't that easy to find.

But I have found that the same one for a 96 onwards colt is the same as the more recent colt 02 onwards.

Now annoyingly I have to wait a few days until the adaptor harness comes through the post. :bored:

Freeview
by FirebirdPhil, 09-10-2019, 07:11 PM
As I don't want to have SKY TV - what is the best Freeview box?

Must have HD, twin tuners and pause/rewind TV etc. Blur Ray would be nice but not essential. Up to £250?

Or is Freesat better???????????????????????

Look what I picked up today...

The car is crazy mental fast. TBH it's probably the closest I'm ever likely to come to owning something that goes supercar fast.

I thought my S/C'd IS300 was pretty quick, but this is off the scale. Driving along with traction control on you can feel it constantly fighting the car when you give it a bit of throttle. And well if you turn it off you just leave a rather long number 11 down the road.

I've not come close to actually planting my foot to the floor yet. Its too scary!

Oh...and the stupid dealer installed four new 'Sunny' tyres! Who the F are Sunny and wtf possessed the dealer to put ditchfinders on a 500bhp car!

Smoke from plug socket
by parthiban, 09-10-2019, 03:09 PM
Just had some smoke coming out of a plug socket, immediately unplugged what was in it, switched the socket off and the smoke stopped.

I'm guessing the socket is just dead and needs replacing - my question though is can I just leave it as is until I can get a new socket tomorrow and get it replaced?

Secondly am I right in thinking it just requires a new socket or could it be more? And should something like this have tripped the breaker?
