My new phone
by Phil01, 23-09-2018, 11:01 AM
Well I was looking at the Samsung S, the htc desire, very nice handsets but they just felt to big and cumbersome in my hand, looked at the ip4 and came to the conclusion that everyone has or wants one, a bit like the BMW/Audi syndrome.
So I got myself the new Nokia N8 running the new symbian 3^ software.
The more i use it the more functions I find, like direct HDMI output port, 12m camera, amazing HD video, even found out last night that you can plug in a mouse and external hard drive into the usb port, so so much more to this phone than most people know about.
So in general very pleased, might be worth you guys looking at it before you decide on your next upgrade.
On 3 network, 24 mth contract, free handset. £30pm gives you 5000 texts, 2000 any number calls, 1g internet, 500 mms messages and a free upgrade after 18mths, and a very good strong 3.5g network coverage

New Alloys on the run a around
by BOOSST, 23-09-2018, 10:55 AM
The 2nd car drives so superbly, but the alloys were looking tired on it. I was planning on having them refurbed at a cost of £140, but a deal came up I could not resisit..

Brand New Audi A5 V Style alloys x 4
All 4 tryres changed over and rebalanced
All 4 Calipers and Hubs resprayed and laquered.

Lets see who can come closest on actual cost all in for cash

HKS CAMP V1 Manuals
by toxo, 21-09-2018, 06:34 PM
As some of you know Stav and I have the older (non-OBD2) version of HKS's CAMP device.

Very little technical information is available about these in English. There is a 3rd party installation guide written in PDF from an old Subaru site and a webpage with a load of screenshots and that's about it.

I contacted HKS to ask if they could supply me with a manual as there are some things like speedo pulse setup and injector duty % that you have to configure specifically for your engine and you can't guess at. I'd also guessed at the wiring for the injector hookup but it seems like I got that right. However HKS came good and send me through PDF copies of the original Japanese manuals. There are no official manuals in English as the device was never sold outside of Japan. So I started translating...

So far I've done the 'Install Guide for Companies' PDF. This seems to be the guide for certified HKS installers / resellers.

Im seriously toying with this idea.........
by Carpediem, 21-09-2018, 09:04 AM
When ive got my lexus fixed, i still plan to trade it in, but im thinking as my drive to work is only 17 miles, a petrol would be just as economical as my 2.2 diesel which hasnt warmed up by the time i get to work

following this theory i looked around, and came across.............

A subaru Impreza 2.0 R Sport

only noticeable differences between it and the STI are the bonnet scoop and alloys (and 100bhp less)

i thought...........hmm wonder what insurance on one of them is,........tapped it onto my aviva account Refund due of £10, monthly premiums £2 cheaper Huh

I then thought, what if i declarred it modded EG: STI Alloys, STI Back Box, Lowering springs

Aviva calculates.........no change :Mobile:

Ive always wanted an impreza, this seems quite an easy way into the fraternity

A guy on youtube posted videos of his 0-60mph and took 5.8 seconds, the only mods he did were K&N typhoon induction kit, custom cams and a borla header (whatever the hell that is)

they are also alot cheaper than the astra's i was looking at,

my mind ponders

THE 1 AND ONLY SR20`d ALMERA SALOON
by nyt_ryda, 21-09-2018, 12:30 AM
Hi,
Here is my pride and joy.
it came as a standard white 1.6 almera saloon
here it is:
[Image: B181-8Q2kKGrHqQOKnME5QCpsK4BMglH-dJZ_12-1.jpg]
[Image: B182H8gBGkKGrHqMOKiEERGChR8EBMglIfniEg_12.jpg]
[Image: B182EmCWkKGrHqIOKiQE7lSG2BcBMglITGdYg_12.jpg]

my first step was the SR20 conversion,
so i striped and rust treated the car:

then it was time for the conversion.
the engine came out of my blue almera gti:

and went strait into this:

then i got the rear boot light removed/welded/smoothed:

put the body kit on with:
Gti suspension
Gti windscreen
Gti wheels
Gti interior:

and ready for primer:

drove it around a few days in primer then decided to spray it matt black:
then got my rocker cover and strut brace sprayed:

with rear lights tinted and ready:
