More on INFINITI CONCEPT Vision Gran Turismo HONG KONG – Infiniti lifts the virtual covers off the INFINITI CONCEPT Vision Gran Turismo, a vision of what a high performance Infiniti could look like in the future. It was created through close collaboration with the creators of Gran Turismo®, the racing game franchise developed by Polyphony Digital Inc. that has sold more than 72 million copies worldwide. The INFINITI CONCEPT Vision Gran Turismo will be available for download starting today in Gran Turismo®6 (GT6™) exclusively on the PlayStation®3 system. The INFINITI CONCEPT Vision Gran Turismo is a project that started as an ambitious global Infiniti Design competition to "design a pure Infiniti GT car." The winning model was born from the theme put forward by Infiniti's Design team in Beijing. Part beauty, part beast, its shape is powerful, sensual and audacious – a mix of a track machine and the dream of our Chinese design team to create an ambitious racing language for Infiniti. The process of developing the design of the INFINITI CONCEPT Vision Gran Turismo started with hand sketching, then refined digitally, refined again by hand sculpting, and then returned to digital for final refinement. This project went much further than being a mere design exercise. It included thorough examinations and calculations of technical features such as aerodynamics and engine performance. The front mid-ship / trans-axle powertrain enables the finely distributed 45:55 front/rear weight balance that fills users with the joy of driving by actively drifting the rear. As for aerodynamics, the under-floor airflow control, front and back diffusers, and uniquely shaped rear spoiler enable this car to demonstrate high performance without compromising the impact of the body design.Today, automotive gaming enthusiasts are able to discover that performance first-hand when the concept car becomes available for download in Gran Turismo®6. Drivers who own GT6 will be the first to test drive the virtual concept car on world famous tracks across the globe."PlayStation" and "Gran Turismo" are registered trademarks of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.About Infiniti Infiniti Motor Company Ltd. is headquartered in Hong Kong with sales operations in over 50 countries. Monday 16th May 2016, Japan Nissan today responded to statements made by the Korean Ministry of Environment (MOE) that the Nissan Qashqai sold in Korea was found to be arbitrarily setting its engine system to illegally control gas emissions.Jonathan Adashek, Chief Communications Officer at Nissan confirmed that the 814 Nissan Qashqai's sold in Korea have been correctly homologated as required by the MOE.Adashek said:“As a company that builds some of the world's best-loved cars, we are proud of our products and our reputation for innovation and quality. We are committed to upholding the law and meeting or exceeding regulations in every market where we operate.Any suggestion that we have not complied with regulations and are illegally controlling gas emissions is wrong. The testing and conclusions reached by the MOE are inconsistent with those of other regulators who have themselves carried out stringent testing. Authorities in the EU have concluded that the Nissan vehicles they tested - including the Qashqai - were fully compliant with homologation standards. The Qashqai sold in Korea complies with - and has been homologated to - European Euro 6 standards and Korean regulations permit the importation and sales of vehicles that comply with these standards. Nissan is disappointed by the statements of the MOE and firmly denies that any wrong doing has taken place.”Adashek added: "We are in the process of responding to the MOE about their findings and will continue to work transparently with them so they clearly understand the situation regarding the Qashqai's engine system."###

BRANDS HATCH, England (May 16, 2016) –Nissan collected its first Pro-Am points of the season at Silverstone in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in a bittersweet day for Nissan yesterday.Sean Walkinshaw combined with GT Academy winners Matt Simmons (Australia) and Romain Sarazin (France) to finish seventh in the Pro-Am class aboard the No.22 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3. British ace Walkinshaw climbed aboard the No.22 machine for the final stint and moved from 14th in class up to as high as sixth before crossing the line in seventh place."We went from 14th to seventh, which wasn't bad at all, and it's just a shame I couldn't keep hold of sixth at the end over the last couple of laps – the tires had just gone," said Walkinshaw. "I had to defend but tried to make sure I wasn't losing time in amongst the backmarkers. I'm a bit annoyed, as I could have held on if it wasn't for a little mistake on the second to last lap. It's great to have our first points though. We're on the board now and hopefully Paul Ricard next month will be good. It's going to be a six-hour race so, even better, as it means twice as long in the car."Sadly for the No.23 machine, opening lap contact for Alex Buncombe took the team's Pro entry out of contention and into a forced retirement – leaving both Mitsunori Takaboshi and Lucas Ordóñez without any race laps. "The first three quarters of the opening lap was awesome," said Buncombe. "I passed about six cars in the first few corners but unfortunately got squeezed by a couple of cars that I was trying to get out of the way of. Then I got speared by a Lamborghini and it destroyed the front left corner of the car. I managed to get it back to the pits. The boys got it fixed and I got back out there and I was able to set some really fast times as good as the lead group. Our pace was really good but we need to work on maintaining that pace when the tires start to drop away. I handed over to Mitsunori, and when he went to go the car wouldn't start. We changed the starter, but we were so far down the order it was best to save the tire allocation for the next Blancpain race at Paul Ricard."Nissan GT Academy Team RJN will now set its sights on the Nürburgring 24 Hour on May 28-29 where Buncombe and Ordóñez will be joined by Kazuki Hoshino and Michael Krumm.Great racing from the @NISMO team this weekend.
