HID not working
HID not working
Think I may have tempted fate with all the talk about swapping out my headlights, but my drivers side HID stopped working yesterday - haven't taken the bulb out yet but will it be obvious if it's just the bulb that's blown?
Looked at replacements and they're pretty expensive so don't want to buy one to then find out it's the ballast, is there any way to check?
What's the normal life for an HID bulb? Thought they lasted quite a bit longer than halogen bulbs, but this one has lasted about 4-5 years which is about the same as a halogen isn't it?
Swap the ballasts around. I had the same problem and they replaced the ballast under warranty.
Yours looks out of warranty, depending on where you got them a new ballast is around £20 from HID Direct.
check the fuse if you havent already,i bought new 8000k ones cos 1 stopped working
(it was an excuse really as i had 6000k already)

Doh! Of course just swap the bulbs around and that should be obvious!

Lol, part of me is looking for an excuse to buy a new kit as I'd quite like to swap to 4300K (although I can do that anyway with just bulbs) but also interested by the newer brighter 55W kits too
When you say check the fuse, is that the car's fuse or a separate one for the HIDs?

Aaron how do you find the difference between 8000k and 6000k bulbs?
