Hi,
I'm John, 26 from lincolnshire and I'm addicted to Nissans. It's been a problem for several years now, but recently came to a head when I ended up with three at once...

Anyway, enough of sounding like I'm in an alcoholics anonymous meeting lol.. here's my car history:

Vauxhall Astra SXI 1.6 16v (First Car I owned myself!)
[Image: 197942_5211086524_587226524_60318_6797_n.jpg]

Nissan Pulsar GTi-R (Immaculate, had done 37k from new!)
[Image: 196202_5211101524_587226524_60299_5477_n.jpg]

Nissan 200sx s14a (Loved this car so much, great fun when you're 19 Big Grin)
[Image: 188428_5211161524_587226524_60277_7161_n.jpg]

Nissan Pulsar GTi-R (Good car, but was impulse bought and ended up blowing up... sold it to a breaker & bought a big TV instead)
[Image: 425810_10150574209021525_587226524_91606...6829_n.jpg]

Nissan Pulsar GTi-R (Again, impulse bought, engine died.. rebuild fully forged.. still have this car now.. will be finished one day)
[Image: 18555_269398801524_587226524_3764668_7644529_n.jpg]

Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-4 (Bought, ran through winter, got rid as I ended up buying the car below and couldn't keep them both and the pulsar)
[Image: 72537_434636101524_587226524_5590879_3256286_n.jpg]

Nissan Skyline R34 GTT (Love this car, big plans Big Grin)
[Image: 552550_10150592328171525_587226524_92189...5453_n.jpg]

So I've currently got an R34 GTT and the White Pulsar, though its got half a wide arch kit fitted to it that's black and needs spraying.. oh an I seem to have developed a carbon fetish aswell, R34 has carbon boot & bonnet, pulsar has carbon bonnet and spoiler..

That's about it really, shall come to the sleaford mini meet again, and probably will come along to the rising sun show as its just down the road from me.

Thanks for looking Big Grin

A Few questions for all you turbo guys out there...
by sprinter2012, 15-02-2020, 02:17 PM
Just weighing up options for making the Lex a bit faster, I've recently been looking at doing a custom Eaton M62 supercharger setup.

But the other option is to go down the small turbo route and just use a boost controller to cap the boost at 0.3 bar just like the TTE supercharger.

Now with regards to physically doing it, all the parts are easy to get hold of (manifold from IKE, blackbox from Patrik etc.) But I have some slightly more technical questions about the turbo'ing stuff.

1. TTE Supercharger generates 0.3 bar boost, which translates to about 75hp extra, but 25hp is used to drive the supercharger so you end up with about 200hp in total. So if I get a turbo which runs off exhaust gases, and doesn't add resistance to the engine, if I still set the boost controller to the same 0.3 bar aswell, am I going to end up with 225hp? And if so, will I need to limit the boost even more to stop it exceeding the thresholds set by the TTE Blackbox?

2. How does turbo sizing work? Are the numbers you see on turbos (T30/T35 etc.) a standardised size or are they a particular manufacturers sizing?

3. Realistically, I'm not at any point planning to go beyond a HP rating that will exceed the stock engine, I'm initally aiming for the same 200hp you get with a supercharger, and maybe increase to 250hp in the future, but that's it. So with that in mind, I want the smallest turbo I can get away with that can make those sort of figures, I don't care about the whole 'my turbo's bigger that yours thing' I just want one that can make about 200-250hp and will spool super fast.

Any advice appreciated :thumbup1:

New to me IS200
by andymunro, 14-02-2020, 03:41 PM
H everyone, I've just become the proud owner of a 52 plate IS200 with only 55k on the clock.

Been reading on here for quite a while as there's plenty I've got planned to do to the car throughout April whilst I have my last rides in my 97 Celica AT200 that I've had for 5 years, which I'm currently deciding what to do with.

As much as I'd have loved to keep the Celica it needs to much time and attention to get it through the next MOT (170k on the clock is just asking for a toilet roll long list of jobs to do for a pass) and another 12 months so having to say my long good bye to it.

Ideally I want it to go to someone to breathe life back into it but will offer it for breaking which would be a shame in part because as I proved to an Insignia up my rear this morning, there's still so much life left in it! But as long as it gives life to others then it's better than going to car hell.

So if anyone is interested in it, PM me and I'll provide a full list of what's good and bad about the car.

But mainly am here for help and advice in making the IS200 the next love of my life because it's a very difficult process picking the new car.
