Bout ya! Newbie from N Ireland
by Mark s, 19-10-2022, 04:20 PM
Hi all. Came across this forum so thought I'd sign up! Have had this Mk3 Supra Jza70 coming 5 years now. Sold it a couple of times but ended up buying it back lol. 1992, imported from Japan to Belfast in May 2009. Pretty much the same as it landed apart from the wheels.

Seat airbags

Are these handy changed? I've bought a black interior to get rid of the nasty beige but the bag is out on the drivers seat

Dash lighting not working...
by ZAIS200, 16-10-2022, 07:35 AM
Hi All,

Was wondering if our resident electronics wizards could help me with this, as the heading states, my Dash lighting is no longer working after i cleaned the wiring loom behind my center console up every thing is now looking tidy and is all working except the dash lights that come on when you switch the headlights on, not even the dials light up, and i suspect its a fuse but remember checking the fuses in the drivers foot well and all seemed to be working, when testing across the fuse for continuity, i got a beep, i will of course check again but was wondering if there are any other places i can look for issues just in case its not a fuse?

Thanks in advance

Another IS owner
by VVT-Einstein, 08-10-2022, 03:08 PM
Hi guys

Obviously new to the forum so just thought I'd show my face here...

I'm almost a year into ownership of my 2002 Lexus IS200 Sport and I've been thoroughly impressed with it. It seems I'm in good company with plenty of other IS owners about on this site.

It was completely standard when I bought it but is now lightly modified, here's some pics:
http://www.carthrottle.com/garage/RhZobf...200-sport/

Previously owned a Toyota MR2 SW20 Revision 5 and a Nissan Bluebird T72 1.8 GS.

As well as the Lexus, I've currently got a 1993 Fiat Panda with a motor swap from a Punto Sporting, not Jap but incredibly fun.

Anyway you'll probs see me about, generally asking for advice no doubt... :thumbup1:

Locks Cycling?!!
by reganlives, 07-10-2022, 07:59 AM
I've noticed that when I unlock my car and open the door the locks seem to cycle a number of times for some reason. This also happens when I park up unlock the car from the inside using the central locking button and open the door. What would cause this and has anyone had this issue?

HID Bulb Replacement
by reganlives, 07-10-2022, 07:45 AM
Noticed yesterday that one of my HID's has stopped working. I haven't had a chance to swap the bulb over to see if its the ballast but if its the bulb then is it ok to just get new bulbs or shall I just get a full kit? Its basically a tenner for just the bulbs or £20 for the full kit. They've lasted my five years so can't complain really!

Also, its HB4 9006 fitment I need isn't it?

I'm thinking of getting a projector and a big screen for my garage.

Has anyone got any advice of which make and model to go for ?

I'm not looking at spending loads but I want something that's good quality.

Bypass lead clock/temp dimming when brake pedal pressed
by Dean1309, 06-10-2022, 01:01 PM
Hey guys,

Been a member on here for ages but have been just browsing the forum. Have never posted. I have had my Lexus IS200 for 2 and half years now, done loads of mods to it.

But one of my first mods was to fit a double DIN Clarion head unit. A lot of people had issues with the wiring of some of the bypass leads, although mine worked OK apart from one small issue.

The temp display and clock, usually people say that the display stays on when the key is removed and it drains the battery. But mine, when I press the brake pedal without the headlights on, the back light goes out, when you release the brake it comes back. I have lived with it for 2 and half years, but recently went to connect up the auto dimming feature on my head unit to the illumination wires behind the dash and no matter what illumination wire I use. Whether its for stereo, heater dials/clock, heated seats, TRC etc the stereo display dims when ever the brake pedal is pressed.

I've been looking everywhere for an answer but have never found it. Can any of you guys point me in the right direction. My gut feeling is that I'm going to have to buy a new lead to solve this problem but hope that's not the case.

I think this is the lead I bought ages ago, definitely that seller, I bought facia and lead together as a kit:
